when TransAlt bans all cars from 34th St, it’s “community wants it” in the face of heavy opposition. when kids get run over as a result of the e-bike superhighway & the community revolts, it’s “we’re going to sue the city so UberEats & Amazon can make more money”.
🚨 BIG WIN: Judge blocks the Adams administration from ripping up the Bedford Avenue safety improvements! Yesterday, we sued the City to stop @NYCMayor's illegal plans to remove the Bedford Avenue protected bike lane. Today, the judge ordered a temporary restraining order.
we’d solve a lot of NYC traffic problems if we weren’t actively hostile towards motorcycles (motos pay $ congestion toll in NYC). Unlike e-bikes it’s cheap regulated personal transport (plates/lic/ins). rather the streets look like this than filled with stupid boulders.

this. preaching to parents from ivory towers that transit is “better” & “safer” than driving while people are stabbed, set on fire or pushed in front of trains is telling them to ignore their own eyes. Would you rather a 3 year old kid be in your car or molested on transit?
Dear Urbanists, Families should be able to enjoy city life. They shouldn't have to expect sketchy behavior when walking or riding the bus. If you truly support "all ages and abilities" planning, then don't dodge the difficult conversations about safety & security.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is why we don’t put flower pots in streets. House burning down? Screw you, you don’t matter. My ability to blow through traffic lights on my ebike is more important than your safety.
Video says it all.
do not Ohio my Manhattan.

ICYMI, Mamdani is a huge TransAlt/OpenPlans supporter so his trust fund base can close down 1200+ streets to eat avocado toast year-round when it’s -10 and everyone else is trying to get to work. NYC, get ready for more manufactured congestion!
Inject it into my veins
No, you directed the DOT to create gridlock by unilaterally changing light timings to 15mph without any community input. Instead of advocating for accountability, you slowed down buses by 40% to prioritize e-bikes for your masters at Uber. They still run reds anyway.
On 3rd Avenue, activists fought for improvements between 60th and 100th Streets that sped up bus commutes for the almost 50,000 daily passengers, and increased cycling by 79%. We can't let these benefits end at 96th — we need them for everyone, from downtown all the way uptown!
the minute the Adams Admin announced the unenforceable speed limit on e-bikes, I predicted the TransAlt activists were going to now lobby for the entire city to be limited to 15mph to manufacture more congestion. Proves my point exactly.
Over 300 people were killed by motor vehicle drivers in New York City last year. Lowering the motor vehicle speed limit to 15 MPH would make our streets safer for everyone.
For District 4, after careful consideration, I will rank: 1- Faith Bondy 2- Virginia Maloney. EVERY candidate in this race is a good and decent person w their heart in the right place. On public safety, e-bike regs, retail theft, mental illness, homelessness...I align best with…
83° and sunny. @NYC_DOT manufactured congestion on 9th Ave by removing two traffic lanes near the Lincoln Tunnel. They charge you a $9 Congestion Tax to be stuck in the gridlock that they helped to create.
this is dumb. rather than hold e-bikes accountable by registering them, let’s collectively punish everyone instead! As this will make it faster to drive, TransAlt will push DOT to adjust speed limits to 15mph instead so everyone suffers. Mark my words.
NYC to cap e-bike and scooter speeds at 15 mph, Adams says gothamist.com/news/nyc-to-ca…
