Very surprising to see this early, but SDS symptoms have appeared in southeast ND. Soybeans were just getting to R2 in this particular field.
Are toads in your cornfield an indicator of adequate moisture? No idea. A more reliable method is to use crop ET or soil moisture sensors. Find links to some great cropwatch articles in the comments.
