We have an ingenious mechanism to detect living & growing microbes; our MR1 protein binds to microbial metabolites and displays these to T cells to rapidly kick off immunity. Here we share what we have learned about the MR1 microbe monitor rdcu.be/dnl69 @NatRevImmunol
Completed Honours, Masters or PhD in immunology? We are recruiting! If you’re interested in T cell immunity, in vivo models, flow cytometry, scRNAseq, Spatial Transcriptomics, intravital imaging, CRISPR/Cas9 etc, contact me via email to discuss @TheDohertyInst @UniMelbMDHS

1/5 Our paper demonstrating a direct suppression of #epithelial cell major histocompatibility complex II (#MHCII) by #IL-22 has just been published in @JExpMed. This work is impactful as several long-circulating forms of IL-22 are currently in clinical trials.
.@dr_monir20, Rahman, Wang et al. led by @sumaira_hasnain @MaterResearch @UQMedicine reveal IL-22 as the regulator of epithelial cell MHC II and its implications in chronic inflammatory and infectious mucosal diseases. bit.ly/3PxQVNV @SimonPhipps14 #MucosalImmunology
Excellent work, love an optimised human T cell spectral flow panel!
Edwards et al designed and standardised a high-dimensional spectral flow cytometry workflow to assess T-cell immunophenotype in patients with melanoma, facilitating an in-depth profiling of blood T cells. @ASImmunology @WileyGlobal onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…
