Work on foreign and defense policy. USMC OIF vet, former DoD, and former U.S. House staffer. Views are my own.
🧵Over the weekend, I started to get many threatening posts like the below in my replies. They started appearing after several big accounts shared a clickbait article falsely connecting me to the leak of the Iran BDA intel - despite the fact I Ieft the Pentagon over 2 months ago.

Trump’s N-word bit - which he rolled out after the Russian invasion of Ukraine - is ten times funnier than anything that has been uttered on a late night comedy show over the last decade. I legitimately believe he was trying to trick Bret Baier into dropping a N bomb here.
Funnier than anything Colbert has done on the Late Show
No black-pilling! @dandcaldwell's message to all the 'Panicans' is to instead focus on being helpful. "It's important for people who believe we need to pursue a more restrained foreign policy to make sure that they're engaging in a productive way."
Good piece. The Euros won’t follow through with their defense spending pledges if they come to believe the U.S. won’t adjust force posture on the continent. Instead, most will welch on their promises like Germany did in 2022 after Biden deployed 20,000 troops to the continent
New piece in FP:
Our best people were sent into a war of choice that was unnecessary and died there. Imagine the incredible things for this country she could have done had she not been sent to that wasted war. It enrages me to no end the more I think about it.
Born and raised in Swampscott, Massachusetts, Jennifer J. Harris graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2000 and earned her Wings of Gold in 2002. She became the first female pilot in the legendary Purple Foxes of Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 364, embodying…
We’ve lost friends, supporters, and professional opportunities because of our relationship with Steve. I will NEVER disavow. Stephen K. Bannon is an American hero. This clip shows exactly why.
Steve Bannon sat down with PBS and addressed this issue of federal judges trying to block immigration enforcement. He didn’t pull any punches. And he called out PBS and the interviewer with some choice language:
Behold, "neo-isolationist," a strawman of a strawman. A meta-strawman, if you will.
This is fascinating. I had no idea Jolani was a descendant of prominent Ba'athists and Nasserists. It's like those studies that show many of China's Communist elites are descendants of the old confucian mandarins who ruled the Middle Kingdom for millennia pre-revolution.

The best to ever do it.
It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and…
It was great to have @dandcaldwell back on the show this week, dodging the controversial topics to cover less divisive things like the Ukraine war, Israel, and defense spending. If you've been patiently waiting for a policy-dense episode, this one's for you. (03:36) Inside the…

I have always thought it is Ride the Lightning. Master has some more sophisticated tracks to be sure but Ride is a tighter album. Every song on Ride is a unique flavor and creates a better listening experience as an overall album
Looking forward to giving a three hour lecture on how I came to believe that Ride the Lightening is @Metallica’s best album-not Master of Puppets. I will then tie my evolution on this important topic to the need for a better U.S. policy in the Middle East (or something like that)
TOMORROW: Long-time friend of Moment of Truth @dandcaldwell returns to talk about why America cannot seem to win wars anymore. Tune in on Monday!

President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions was a principled step, offering the Syrian people a chance to move beyond years of unimaginable suffering and atrocities. The international community has largely rallied behind the nascent Syrian government, watching with cautious…
