There is a population of wealthy single family homeowners in Chicago that would find a lot more happiness in the suburbs
Commentary: Cutting parking requirements while upzoning Broadway will create a crisis. trib.al/gUDM4KS
F1 was a great film After the screening, my wife & I got on e-bikes, I yelled “COMBAT” and pinned an SUV at a red light so she could overtake him
This is awesome. But the compromise amendment requires sprinklers in each habitable room, the stairs have to be 10 inches wider, and you cant have more than one single-stair building per parcel. The sprinklers in particular will drive the cost up a lot. Not sure this is the way.
NASHVILLE JUST PASSED 6-STORY SINGLE-STAIR REFORM! Nashville officially becomes the third-largest city to legalize single-stair apartment buildings up to six stories, outdoing Austin who recently passed a 5-story code update passed earlier this year. LET'S FREAKIN GO NASHVILLE
PJM's 26/27 capacity prices almost exactly match the annualized cost of this Costco generator. Found the marginal unit.
James O'Brien has announced that he will run to represent Illinois House District 13, which will be vacated by Rep. Hoan Huynh. James is a hardcore energy and climate wonk who works at the ICC, & former advisor to Cam Davis at MWRD. We badly need people like him in office!…

“The largest cohort analysis of GLP-1 drugs, which looked at several million Veterans Affairs patients, found that they reduced the hazard ratio for literally every biological system that was assessed.”
New newsletter: We need to talk about how GLP-1 drugs seem to be good for practically everything—and what that means for the future of medicine and health Hundreds of studies have now shown that GLP-1s, such as Ozempic and Zepbound: - seem to curb alcohol, cocaine, and tobacco…
Mikie Sherrill just earned my endorsement with this tweet. New Jersey: vote Sherrill!
Third, we need a reliable source of electricity generation that can meet our state’s need for decades to come – and that’s nuclear power. I’ll work with neighboring states to harness economies of scale and expand safe nuclear power capacity in New Jersey at a low cost, which will…
very strange how the transportation secretary keeps fearmongering about one of the safest forms of transportation and is silent about the fact that America has the most dangerous roads of any developed country
New Yorkers should not be forced on dangerous subways to avoid paying an elite tax. Lawmakers’ NYC congestion pricing scheme is textbook class warfare and @USDOT is fighting to end it.
Impressive parking mandate reform just passed Chicago.
Lots of talk about nuclear in the west. But basically only Britain is building anything meaningful. Cheerio!
🇬🇧 > 🇺🇸🇫🇷🇨🇦🇯🇵... The UK is now building 6.5GW of nuclear, more than the rest of the West combined!
Fun fact, at the South East Lakeview Neighbors community meeting about this project, a nearby NIMBY claimed that this building would make it difficult for her to have kids. 🤦♂️

The Chicago Park District has proposed burying Lake Shore Drive in Grant Park! I'm asking them to replace the Columbus statue with a statue of Admiral Hyman Rickover, the Chicagoan who founded the nuclear navy.

The Chicago Progressive Caucus just delivered what could be the most significant housing reform in the history of the city.
We need to pull every lever that we possibly can to grow our housing supply and drive down the cost of rent to make Chicago the safest, most affordable city in America. By making it easier to build across our city we make affordable, equitable transit oriented housing possible in…
The beltline is probably the best place to build a new rail line in America
@AtlantaBeltline 356 University Ave RFP to go out in August & responses back in Q4. 520 units, 100k sq ft of retail, & 180k sq ft of light industrial proposed across 4 buildings.
