Audiences don't hate diverse characters. What they hate is being slammed as bigots for rejecting bad work from pretentious, unskilled activists posing as writers. If the demography of your characters becomes more important than the story, your story will probably suck.
If you're not cultivating at least one creative discipline, you're not living at your full potential.
One of the finest performances ever captured on film, and not a single word spoken
If it were about Colbert he would've just been replaced. But CBS is shutting down "The Late Show" altogether. If anything he's free to do and say whatever he wants now. People really need to chill out.
If it can happen to Stephen Colbert it can happen to you
The more skills you learn, the richer the landscape of the brain. It’s up to you.
A thriving culture wouldn't be drowning in reboots, remakes, remixes and remasters.
In 1998 an action-comedy starring two minorities shattered expectations, grossing almost half a billion on a $64M budget & spawning 2 sequels No one was outraged No one protested No one cared Wild how audiences embraced diversity before they were told they didn't
If you’re still crying about how politics ruined the arts, you’re behind. Complaining solves nothing. Our institutions won’t change. So now I’m changing course-- ....and embarking on what may be my life’s work.

If artists stopped focusing on what makes the classics "problematic" and started focusing on what makes classics "classic," there'd be way less slop to watch, read, and listen to today.
In 1997 a female-led series premiered on The WB channel and went on to become one of the most popular shows ever It lasted 7 seasons, with new episodes averaging 4-6 million viewers, impressive for a 2 year old TV network No one was outraged Everyone loved it They still do…
The only people claiming Colbert was cancelled over his politics are the ones who would cancel you over yours.
My sole mission in life now is acquiring enough wealth to become an anti-Capitalist.
These all came out in 1993 Crazy how frequent good movies were before it was decided half the audience is fascist
In 1980 media rumors swirled that Thomas Sowell was joining the incoming Reagan administration (he wasn't) This drew severe backlash from the Civil Rights establishment One NAACP official called him a "House N*gger" Sowell's scathing reply still resonates today
I've been leaving my phone in my car. Not only does it remove a major distraction, I literally feel more at peace. It's been a huge lesson in how badly these devices scramble your brain (if you let them).
Question for you. When you have to do 1-3 hours of focused work, do you place your phone:
The Cosby Show The Jeffersons Amen! Martin 227 Roc The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Family Matters A Diff'rent World Living Single The diversity of Black American sitcoms in the 80s and 90s was amazing. What a great era of television to have grown up watching.
Disagreeableness has become the most important psychological trait. Everyday there is propaganda to ignore, psyops to reject, perversities to stay out of. The skill and speed with which you say "no" will determine how far you go
All of these were released in 1990 We were churning out hits before we decided the audience is fascist
This is gorgeous.
Happy 44th Anniversary to The Fox and the Hound (1981)
