Today, the flagship paper of the @uk_biobank Pharma Proteomics Project was published in @Nature. nature.com/articles/s4158… The results are fully browsable at ukb-ppp.gwas.eu. The underlying protein measures will become available to UKB researchers in the next few weeks.
We’re excited to announce a pilot proteomics program with @uk_biobank and biopharma collaborators to analyze 50,000 samples using our upcoming proteomics solution, Illumina Protein Prep (IPP), which detects 9000 unique human proteins. The reference dataset will be made available…
Proteins, proteins, proteins. How 3,000 blood proteins can help predict 10-year risk of >200 common and rare diseases, beyond genomic markers nature.com/articles/s4159… @uk_biobank @NatureMedicine
Preprint: doi.org/10.1101/2024.0…. Viral infections have been linked to an increased risk for dementia - might SARS-CoV-2 infection also confer an increased risk of dementia in segments of the population?
Our latest #pQTL study using the @seer_bio #proteomics platform just went online in @NatureComms - we share the full MS data on ebi.ac.uk/pride/archive/… Read our paper here: link.springer.com/article/10.103…
HOW DOES THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY discover new drugs and drug targets for Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, cardiovascular disease, +schizophrenia? Dr Chris Whelan talks frankly about large biobanks, whole genome sequencing, proteomics, multi-omics, pQTLs for brain illnesses, and rare…
Congrats @steph_loomis for expertly leading our study of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities in the Ph3 aducanumab (Aduhelm) trials. This is the first study to systematically evaluate ARIA via GWAS & exWAS, with breakdowns by severity & APOE genotype. neurology.org/doi/10.1212/WN…
I am super-excited to see this collaborative manuscript now out: Genetic determinants of blood gene expression and splicing and their contribution to molecular phenotypes and health outcomes! Pre-print: medrxiv.org/content/10.110… Data portal: intervalrna.org.uk
Incredibly excited to share our work using the UK Biobank Pharma Proteomics Project (UKB-PPP) data and other efforts in tonight’s #ASHG23 plenary session!! Come check it out! @OlinkProteomics
Due to a server issue, the UKB-PPP pGWAS website is currently accessible to EU scientists only. @_MatthiasArnold & team are working to resolve the issue ASAP.
Reminder - all results from the UKB-PPP protein GWAS can be browsed and downloaded at: ukb-ppp.gwas.eu Full credit to Nick Lehner, @mwoerhe, @KastenmullerLab, @_MatthiasArnold & @ksuhre for building a beautiful interface.
13 pharma companies have studied thousands of blood proteins from 54,000 people in the UK Biobank and uncovered a treasure trove of new leads on drug targets and biomarkers. My story on this massive #proteomics effort for @endpts: endpts.com/pharma-proteom…
