To me, construction seems like almost a worst-case scenario for robotics. Lots of contact, high precision requirements, dangerous in case of failures, impossible to control lighting, you even might have to deal with weather! And yet, a bunch of robotics companies are trying to…

Isn't this how SpaceX works? Famously use python tooling for modeling instead of a mess of legacy tools. Move fast = work in python
Unpopular Opinion: This work process is one of their secret sauces for success. Whatever works, no time wasting BS.
Hard disagree. Very. 1. Slam was not solved ages ago 2. Orbslam. I love you. But sry 3. All existing implementations fail miserably in real world 4. NeuralNets are an important ingredient for slam Fermi's paradox: If Slam, mapping and navigation is solved, where are the robots?
My post sends the wrong message. Here's a clarification + some thoughts (1) SLAM has been solved for ages (without deep learning) (2) IRW deep learning is bad for SLAM (3) SLAM is dying (4) VGGT and ORB-SLAM are great, they just focus on different tasks Let me elaborate (1/5)
About a dozen people sent me the Unitree announcement today. Makes sense, since I guess since K-Scale is the only American humanoid robot company with a product that you can actually buy. If you are American and you care about the future of robotics in this country, you should…
Warning: the $5.9K price is for a "DEMO" unit. Price of all Unitree products is subject to their EDU Scam. I consider this EDU pricing model a form of unfair marketing competition. Let me explain (disclaimer: personal opinion, happy to correct it if needed): These robots do…
Um, guys EDU version is not a “scam” unless you can point out other companies manufacturing similar level of performance for cheaper. Unitree is crushing the competition rn. Yes they have entry level models and upsells - like every other product in existence. Calling it a scam…

Amazing how bad claude 4 sonnet is, solely within the context of visual studio code's copilot. what the hell are they doing over there
man I love this sort of innovation lowering costs more than 95% with a single change is such a satisfying move

OSS robotics one love ❤️ $dlgh
This looks incredibly good for an open robotic arm
ROMAN(Robust Object Map Alignment Anywhere) github.com/mit-acl/roman a view-invariant global localization method that maps open-set objects and uses the geometry, shape, and semantics of objects to find the transformation between a current pose and previously created object map.
Bilateral force-feedback control! Leader arm is now available for order at i2rt.com
Exaggerated. We’re from the SV, built & shipped robots in deployment and stepped foot in countless factories. Where’s your motor sourced from?
Figure is NOT cutting production volume. Exact opposite Also, where are you sourcing your actuators or the components for them? x.com/adcock_brett/s…
We made the decision to ~3x the number of humanoid robots manufactured in July-Sept at Figure Early BotQ manufacturing has gone well and we feel more robots are needed to accelerate our roadmap
Sharing a few more demos of our first #LargeBehaviorModel (LBM) at TRI. 1/🍎This model enables a robot to learned to core and cut an apple into multiple slices autonomously. We trained our diffusion-based LBM on almost 1,700 hours of robot data, conducted 1,800 real-world…
Well said from Ben. Unitree aren't cheating, they are a profitable company building good products. Lot of heads in the sand.

Humanoid locomotion on flat ground is basically solved, which sadly is pretty much useless since on flat ground you could just use wheels
"Dude, locomotion is solved, the real moat is in manipulation. Trust me bro, our VLA uses flow matching, the math is REALLY hard, like college-level" "Ok, so can you sell me a walking robot?" "Yeah totally, my postdoc did it on a Unitree robot and it pretty much worked" ☠️

OpenArm has been released - A fully open-source bimanual robot arm built for physical AI. Some stats: – 7 DoF – 633mm reach – 6kg payload/arm All in BOM cost of $6.5k. Thanks for sharing - @enactic_ai @hiro_yams
Can you tell what’s autonomous and what’s teleop? Neither can our customers. This video is 100% playback speed, and 50% autonomous.

People will regret their casual use of disgusting hateful slurs like clanker
clanker loses his hat and freaks tf out this is why i can't take these guys seriously smh
