Nicklaus had 4 great rivals: Palmer, Player, Watson, Trevino. Together, those rivals won 30 majors. Tiger had no real rivals, but top competitors were Mickelson, Els, Singh, Harrington, who together won 16 majors.
Different eras and different levels of competition.
Usefully for me, it all supports my meta theory which is that these conspiracy theories about our “elites” are like 80% true, but most people fixate on the 20% that isn’t true, and of the 80% that is true it’s only true of the most boring and inert version of the grand narrative.
Don’t get mad at us. When this is all over, I want Democrats to ask Kathy Hochul if it was worth it. Was the rush of getting 4 unearned seats in 2024 worth losing the House in 2026 and 2028? Well?

If you look back at the last century of political history, you realize the Left is not afraid to assert its vision of morality, and they’re willing to wield power and make people uncomfortable in the act of doing so. The overwhelming majority of Progressive achievements were not…
The contention--which is pretty clear if you just read what I said--is that it's bogus for the WSJ to publish a hit piece without showing us the letter. I have no idea if the book exists--WSJ won't show it to us. I have no idea if the letter exists--WSJ won't show it to us. What…
Ok so circling back here, @JDVance. The contention is that the book is entirely fake? Or Trump being a contributor is fake, or all that is real but someone created a totally fake Trump letter and stuck it in the real book? nytimes.com/2025/07/24/us/…

It takes the NYTs 5 paragraphs to get to the nut and tell their readers the truth. LOL
Republicans Pounce? NYT headline explains Democrats have little opportunity to combat potential Republican redistricting. Why? Because their states are already so egregiously gerrymandered. That's not me--that's what the Times admits later in the article!
Went to a really sad movie last night about a family whose home ended up being filled with tear gas. There wasn't a dry eye in the house!
Absolute perfection...
This structure is going to be Denver Int’l Airport level in its ability to generate “whats it really for?” conspiracy theories forever.
Buddy, you should get a lawyer now, because you are not really married. If either of you can be "$150k in debt" and the other has money and won't help. Marriage advice: Always have a joint account.

I guess the playoffs is when he turns invisible

To reiterate my least popular tweet of the summer: In a Baby Bust, we should dial back on the whole thing where we transfer wealth from the family-formation period of life to the retirement period of life.
A social safety net that transfers resources from working-age people to non-workers makes sense, but within the category of non-workers we are massively overweight on "old people" relative to "kids and their caretakers."
I love this chart. In the middle you have the useful idiots. One step away are people who don't really get it and think it's about "the institution, keep or destroy". 2 steps are those who get it, but are loss averse. And the outer layer are the true positions.
NEW from @EchelonInsights: Using our social X economic quadrants, and adding a new anti-establishment score, we clustered the American electorate into 8 political tribes.
It's time we take the Jets franchise out to the swamps of NJ and kill it. The sign here is plain as day.
Jets QB Justin Fields was carted off the field this morning. The team fears he has torn his Achilles which would sideline him for the remainder of the season.
Do yourself a favor, read this and think for a second who might be in your life that you can love this way...
Thinking about PeeWee, my boyhood three-legged* dachshund (& who knows what else mutt). Now that was a dog. *didn't actually have three legs, but one of his legs had been broken and he got so used to not walking on it when it had a cast he never used it & it eventually atrophied
