There’s massive fraud in the Obamacare exchanges. 6.4 million more people (or brokers on their behalf) are claiming low incomes to get free plans than are actually eligible. The system’s broken—and the incentives to cheat are massive. Our new paper: paragoninstitute.org/private-health…
Why are millions fraudulently reporting income in Obamacare exchanges? Because the system rewards cheating—and this chart proves it. Enrollees can gain thousands by misstating income between 100–150% FPL. New Paragon Report: t2m.io/UJ0H1s7
Smart piece by @mfcannon. I strongly endorse doing another Rand health insurance experiment or something similar. How about it @NIH?
If Medicaid were a drug, the FDA wouldn’t approve it—and could punish its salesmen with up to a year in prison for claiming it saves lives. My latest Substack post springs from a exchange between @Brian_Blase, @CitizenCohn, @AngelaWyse, others, and me. (Link below.)
In 2024, there were fewer than 2 workers to support every Medicaid recipient.

it really does a disservice to readers not to explain that the additional tax credits passed in 2021 and extended in 2022 were designed to address the covid pandemic and democrats were the ones that scheduled them to expire at the end of 2025 because the pandemic would be over.
Republicans are ready to revive stalled health care legislation. Dems want the GOP to pay a price. ow.ly/beqa106gq7A
“Biden administration enrollment-at-any-cost policies perpetuated massive fraud in public health programs -- fraud that largely benefited health insurers and unscrupulous brokers. Dr. Oz and CMS are taking necessary steps, like this most recent one, to ensure that public programs…
Concerning that Penn State is losing to Marshall in this game.
President Trump’s dance is reportedly in the new EA Sports College Football 26 game.. 👀
Ed Feulner was an incredible person who meant a lot to me and my professional life. He was always generous with me and perpetually optimistic. He will be missed by many. Add and multiply! Onward, Ed.

Important reminder of how The Washington Post celebrated a major @BarackObama Medicaid proposal in 2012 - limits to the Medicaid provider tax scam. It took 13 years, but Congress finally enacted this important reform in the One Big Beautiful Bill.

Important piece from my colleague @Gjkalisz. The massive ACA exchange fraud did not just harm taxpayers. People got enrolled into plans or had plans switched without their consent. Some lost coverage for providers and medications. Others accumulated large tax liabilities.
🚨 Meet the victims of Biden’s Enrollment-At-Any-Cost ACA exchange strategy 🚨 Policies empowered unscrupulous brokers to enroll individuals and switch plans without consent. Victims pay the financial, physical and emotional consequences. paragoninstitute.org/paragon-progno…
Hospital prices have risen 3x faster than inflation this century Government policy subsidizes hospitals in so many ways Fortunately, in the One Big Beautiful Bill, Congress limited one major abuse - the growth of Medicaid payments to hospitals up to average commercial rates

Jonathan, fortunately from your perspective, the main reforms that the Freedom Caucus pushed - and which were successful - were Obama proposals to limit Medicaid provider taxes as well as limits on the massive corporate welfare by enacting sensible caps on state-directed payments
“They literally said we weren’t going to touch Medicaid. And we touched a trillion dollars worth of Medicaid.” That's Republican Chip Roy -- via @NOTUSreports -- blowing up the big Trump/GOP lie on health care notus.org/congress/house…
Drew, states are only paying 25% of Medicaid expenditures now - down from the historic 40% state share. What do you think the optimal federal/state share should be?
The $50 billion rural hospital/health care grant program can’t help but do a lot of good. It’s also likely to be highly political and isn’t timed or targeted to help a lot with Medicaid cuts. My latest column: kff.org/from-drew-altm…
Which Republican policies? Verifying eligibility of enrollees? I assume most people think we should do that, particularly given the massive amount of improper enrollment Not extending the enhanced subsidies? Democrats had them end after 2025 in their 2022 reconciliation bill
Paragon’s aim is to reform government health programs by empowering patients, promoting market competition, reducing bureaucracy, cutting corporate welfare, and removing perverse incentives that drive up spending of little, if any, value. We eagerly work with policymakers of…

Health insurers’ profits and executive compensation surged under Biden admin from massive fraud in the exchanges and Medicaid. Thankfully, the Trump admin is taking common sense steps to address the fraud, which will put needed pressure on insurers & reduce the gravy train.
I really want to thank @DrOz for fighting this fraud and waste in important government programs. Should be the top story for swamp media... alas.... 2.8 Million Americans Potentially Enrolled in Two or More Medicaid/ACA Exchange Plans | CMS cms.gov/newsroom/press…
Yes.
In my pieces on Medicaid, I have frequently pointed out the existence of doubly enrolled recipients. Neither the CBO nor the researchers of mortality nor the many, many other commentators ever acknowledged this. Going forward, such estimates should factor this in.
This is good govt, using tech to identify a problem 1.2m ppl enrolled in multiple state Medicaid programs simultaneously 1.6m ppl enrolled in Medicaid and a subsidized exchange plan simultaneously Another result of Biden’s enroll-at-any cost strategy - which enriched insurers
CMS found 2.8 million Americans enrolled in two or more Medicaid or ACA plans - wasting over $14 Billion in taxpayer funding! This is exactly why we fought for stronger tools in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. cms.gov/newsroom/press…
