The One Big Beautiful Bill Act will bring sweeping changes to health coverage. @louisenorris looks at five of its provisions that will be implemented first and the populations they will affect. buff.ly/0PN0mco
A classic and — in my non-expert opinion — one of the best cast pairings ever
MIDNIGHT RUN was released 35 years ago today. One of the best buddy comedies to come out of the 80s, its behind the scenes story was a cross-country thrill ride 1/30
per a new CBS News poll, public opinion on immigration has flipped. people now mostly think that trump’s deportation agenda is going too far
A model for the nation? I don’t think so. As I note below Georgia’s Medicaid work requirement, now mandated in all states by Trumps budget bill, has been a shocking waste of taxpayer $$ generating corporate profit by keeping people out of coverage. abcnews.go.com/Health/georgia…
This past few years we as a nation had helped get to a historically high percentage of Americans with health coverage. For the next several years, we are willfully going backwards. On average, this is a baseball stadium of people losing coverage in every Congressional district.

When we visited this Texas region last month, people were scared to sign up for Medicaid, even if they live here legally. Now, the @AP has confirmed their fears. What does it mean for public health? apnews.com/article/trump-…
They keep saying they are protecting Medicaid's truly vulnerable Would be easier to believe if they didn't keep doing things that will hurt Medicaid's truly vulnerable It happened again last week, read about it in my latest for @BulwarkOnline thebulwark.com/p/trump-isnt-d…
A waste of food. A waste of lives. A waste of American resources and power. We must find a way to buy and distribute this food on behalf of the American people…I will pay for it personally. @realdonaldtrump @marcorubio what happened to your Christian faith? "For I was hungry…
Mamdani here does something I've been pleading with prominent Democrats to do for years: anticipate bad-faith right-wing attacks, and pre-empt them, draining them of most of their force. And he proves you don't have to be severe or scoldy about it.
Good morning! I'm in Uganda to visit family and friends. But depending on your perspective, don't worry or I'm sorry: I'll be back by the end of the month. See you soon, NYC.

Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.

The $50 billion rural hospital/health care grant program can’t help but do a lot of good. It’s also likely to be highly political and isn’t timed or targeted to help a lot with Medicaid cuts. My latest column: kff.org/from-drew-altm…
