We’ve worked out how the molecular machines that create acidic compartments can recruit autophagy (self-eating) machinery when they can’t maintain a pH gradient. We are really pleased with this discovery, out in @MolecularCell cell.com/molecular-cell…. 1/16
119' - Gol di Kelly, Inghilterra-Italia 2-1 Bronze lascia l'esecuzione del tiro dagli undici metri a Kelly. Saltello e destro a incrociare, Giuliani para, ma sulla respinta Kelly ribadisce in rete.
You might as well platform someone who says that clean water is bad. It's less stupid to platform someone who thinks the earth is flat.
Appalled to see the Telegraph giving Aseem Malhotra a platform today. He has spread increasingly dangerous vaccine misinformation with impunity. @gmcuk’s failure to remove him from the register is every bit as appalling. A spineless dereliction of duty.
OK I disagree with essentially all of this, but I do see that the way the NHS has treated doctors over the past 20 years would make you feel this way.
Hey resident doctors, remember this: You owe the NHS nothing You owe the public nothing You owe the Trusts nothing You worked hard to become highly qualified and skilled professionals, it was all you You are owed a fair wage and NOT a pay cut! Same for consultants Strike hard
Insightful and cogent as always.
A large number of people (mostly men, in my experience) who're sympathetic to some of women's opposition to gender identity ideology, nevertheless think it's cruel to point out that a trans-identified man looks like a man, and unkind not to 'respect' his pronouns. They think…
My own & other clinicians' concerns re proposed Assisted Dying bill are on record: it should not command public confidence, wherever you stand on AD. It faces the risk of falling into disrepute. 55 clauses long, but 38 powers, 5 of which are Henry VIII (amend later)& 9 new…
My statement on today's Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill vote.
Thank you, Health Secretary @wesstreeting, for reaching out today and for your support for @WHO colleagues in #Gaza and our lifesaving work. We need Member States’ help to ensure we can access health facilities and deliver health aid.
The magnificent #Lionesses What a great team and fantastic win. Hooray for #Agyemang she was a saviour once again 🥳❤️#UEFA #EUROS
It appears to now be considered safe by some previously totally silent Labour women MPs to tweet about upholding the Supreme Court ruling. Where have they been though, for all the years when we needed to hear from them? Excuse me if I decline to open the Champagne. #Cowards

There’s an important question here. In the run up to the third reading of the assisted dying bill, who was reassuring MPs that safety concerns would be sorted out in the House of Lords?
10. MPs were told (who by?) that the bill could be fixed in the Lords. 335 MPs are new to parliament; this misleading line may well have persuaded some inexperienced MPs to vote for a bill they suspected was unsafe. x.com/kesleeman/stat…
Freed from wax but garrotted by a million lanyards: that’s progress!
EXCL: Government will stop using wax seals on official documents. Seals were first used by Kings 1,000 years ago and have been used by the Govt for 150 years. It will be scrapped as part of red tape slashing drive to speed up govt for taxpayers Fab story by @SophiaSleigh
Give her my love as a fellow member of the Cancer club. Hope all goes well ♥️
Notably the Secretary of State for Health has (correctly) opposed this very poor quality legislation. I think we have reached the point where Starmer needs to be replaced if Labour want to win the next election.
The Assisted Dying Bill is 'one of the Government's major priorities' according to this official answer. I hope this will be corrected @wesstreeting questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-questi…
This is damning. The bill is a disaster, and the current Government has to be held to account for it.
Wait. Didn't @SKinnock claim again and again that the government was "neutral" on #assistedsuicide /#assisteddying? Now it has been declared one of "the Governent's major priorities". Did he mislead Parliament?
I know from bitter experience that this is true.
Canada's short term visitor visa program is amazingly broken. Friends at Ivies can't get a visa to go to a single conference (but if you want to study a fake degree at below degree level that's fine however).
