After 2010 we helped millions off welfare and into work & fixed the public finances. Then Covid hit and disability & sickness benefits soared. We were bringing in reforms to fix it - but Lab have abandoned reform and we’re back to the doom loop of welfare, tax and debt.

We need to reduce welfare spending. The Govt’s bill - rushed in to meet the Chancellor’s fiscal crisis - will be ineffective without real reform and job creation. But they’re not even looking at the £3bn Motability scheme as the minister admitted

The Welfare Bill was supposed to save £5bn. Last week they gave up £2.5bn by creating 2 tiers of claimant. Then today they scrapped the rest of the PIP reforms - another £2bn. Net off the new spending, and the cuts bill is now a spending bill, & no reform. Well done Labour.
