βThatβs Catholicβ is not inherently a critique. βReformedβ is an adjective.
Infant baptism preceded delayed baptism, which was common in 3rd and 4th cent. After that fad, infant baptism returned to being normal practice.
Origen, Homilies on Leviticus 8:
My charge that modern 2Ks hold "separationist" theology remains undefeated. Also, the "absolute separation" principle described here, when carried through extensively, means that there are no families in the church (which undermines infant baptism) and that, in the eyes of theβ¦

Behold, the fruit of TMS. Anti-creedal anti-confessional slop.
It shouldn't be a surprise that Matthew Barrett is now an Anglican. He denied Sola Scriptura, likening it to "solo" Scriptura. History has shown that liturgical use of creeds and confessions drifts people away from Scripture, not towards it. This pattern will continue.
I don't care if you're Anglican, Baptist, Presbyterian, or Lutheranβso long as you're Sacralist.
RPW guys: βInstruments and incense are just types and shadows.β Also RPW guys: *Sabbatarianism*
RPW/EP is weird. Psalms but no instruments. Psalms but no incense. Psalms and no other songs depending on what flavor of RPW you are. Psalms except for the Old Covenant stuff, but also, a lot of the Psalms are Old Covenant stuff and have little to no New Covenant stuff.
Arguing that Israel was not blood and soil is insane. They were an extended family with semi-permeable borders, but still identifiable as coming from that family in a particular place.
Abraham made his servant swear to find Isaac a wife from his own people Foreigners ruling was a curse Some foreigners were not even allowed into the temple for three generations The tribes remained distinguishable from one another Nehemiah separated and exiled foreign spouses
Spiritual unity in Christ is not sufficient for living well together in civil life, because civil life requires many things not supplied in that unity, such as common language, heritage, attachment to place, and other things. This is obvious but theology easily becomes ideology.
This is getting such a reaction because one of the largest reasons many young men like myself were drawn to Reformed churches was due to *explicitly being turned off* by church looking like this. Love it or hate it, but that's why it's shocking to many to see this in the PCA.

This fundamentally misunderstands the economics of praise music. Big evangelical churches function as incubators of rising stars. They fund their salary, musical production, pay the expenses of recording, etc. In return, the artist is an attendance booster for the church.
Outside of the Divine Service. At home. On your radio. Infect the world.
You had a stable pastor for decades, a seminary, and a plurality of elders that you ordained saying they are qualified to rule the church and teach, but it never occurred to you to be training one of these men to pastor the church he was in after John? I donβt get it.
GCC elders Johnson & Riccardi: who will fill Johnβs pulpit? βNo one knows. My suspicion is that it will be someone who was trained here & probably not someone who is here now.β -PJ Austin preached each Sun morning Feb-June but Busenitz will continue the book of Mark in Aug.
Worship is spiritual warfare. It isnβt a substitute for politics.
π§΅Becoming a Christian doesnβt automatically make you wiser. Your highest loves are converted and transformed slowly over time, becoming properly ordered.
The CREC D.C. plant is going smoothly, and I can only hope for more of Godβs kindness through the worship of his people. We should also note in case it was not clear in my last sentence that this is all about worship. Worship is warfare, and worship is also the welfare of theβ¦
