AI @ Datadog and CMU
My experiences as a postdoc in Berkeley's AMPLab were transformational for my career. I'm super excited about the @LaudeInstitute's vision of funding "Patterson-style" labs at other universities via its moonshot program!
Today, I’m launching a deeply personal project. I’m betting $100M that we can help computer scientists create more upside impact for humanity. Built for and by researchers, including @JeffDean & @jpineau1 on the board, @LaudeInstitute catalyzes research with real-world impact.
Our Chief Scientist @atalwalkar sat down with @conversatAINews to discuss Datadog’s AI strategy. He shares a closer look at his career and what's on the horizon for Datadog and #AI. Read the interview here: bit.ly/46ZGAEz
Happy to see a time series workshop @ NeurIPS 2025 motivated in part by our search for BERT moments in specialized foundation models (🧵here: x.com/khodakmoments/…)

Heading to Vancouver for ICML✈️🇨🇦Let’s chat about coding agents, evals, and human-AI collab. I’ll also be on the job market this upcoming cycle, looking for TT faculty roles + post-docs. Here's where you'll be able to find me this week👇
Evaluating agents on benchmarks is a pain. Each benchmark comes with its own harness, scoring scripts, and environments and integrating can take days. We're introducing the Terminal-Bench dataset registry to solve this problem. Think of it as the npm of agent benchmarks. Now…
Super excited about this! @krisfredrickson is amazing.
Some news - I raised $175M for Verified Capital with a plan to back transformative technology companies at any stage of their journey. Thanks to @_IainMartin for the writeup in Forbes. forbes.com/sites/iainmart…

if you're interested in generative modeling and stochastic interpolants, you should check this out! thanks @nmboffi !
🧵generative models are sweet, but navigating existing repositories can be overwhelming, particularly when starting a new research project so i built jax-interpolants, a clean & flexible implementation of the stochastic interpolant framework in jax github.com/nmboffi/jax-in…
Fully open machine learning requires not only GPU access but a community commitment to openness. (Some nostalgic lessons from the ImageNet decade.) argmin.net/p/an-open-mind…
I'm very excited to share some new work arxiv.org/abs/2506.06488. This work started out in conversations with @thorn where we realized that shadow model MIAs couldn't be used to audit models for harmful content of children. See 🧵 for why, and our progress on solving this...
“Joining the S&P 500 Index is a significant milestone for Datadog and is a testament to the work of our employees, collaboration with partners, and above all, our relentless focus on meeting the complex needs of our 30,000+ global customers” — Olivier Pomel, Datadog co-founder…
🤖🧠 Join us for the 2025 Workshop on Human-AI Complementarity for Decision Making at CMU! 📅 Sept 25-26, 2025 💰 Travel to Pittsburgh & lodging covered 📝 Abstract deadline: July 15 We welcome abstract submissions, which will be presented as talks or posters. Details below!
We are so excited to announce a new open-source challenge in collaboration with @proximafusion : unlocking fusion with AI If you haven't followed, fusion is how the sun make energy and is –in the long term– our best bet on a clean, safe, and virtually limitless energy In the…
Most AI agents are tested in a bubble. But real ML breakthroughs happen in communities. We introduce CoMind, an research agent that learns from community knowledge. 📊 CoMind outperforms ~70% human teams in a CVPR 2025 workshop competition. 🧵👇

Hanging out in Trondheim for @FSEconf this week! It's my first SE conf: let's chat about applications of LLMs for SE and improving developer productivity! I'll be presenting our demo paper on open-source proactive coding assistants tomorrow at the LLM for SE 3 session.
Excited to announce 🎵Magenta RealTime, the first open weights music generation model capable of real-time audio generation with real-time control. 👋 **Try Magenta RT on Colab TPUs**: colab.research.google.com/github/magenta… 👀 Blog post: g.co/magenta/rt 🧵 below
Check out our new work led by @Shanda_Li_2000 where we ask how well LLMs perform at solving PDEs. It turns out that using LLMs to generate code works quite well in our early results, and this is an interesting alternative to neural PDE solvers.
Can LLM solve PDEs? 🤯 We present CodePDE, a framework that uses LLMs to automatically generate solvers for PDE and outperforms human implementation! 🚀 CodePDE demonstrates the power of inference-time algorithms and scaling for PDE solving. More in 🧵: #ML4PDE #AI4Science
