AI-native startups are a different beast: - “Do things that don’t scale” used to be for bootstrapping. AI makes it a plausible scaling strategy. - SaaS was cheap to run (zero marginal cost). AI isn’t (high linear slope) Just 2 examples. Should write a long post someday.
I remember being so impressed when I added the transformers XL model of Yang Zhilin as the third model in the transformers library back in early 2019 not surprised he's now shipping crazy impressive stuff with Moonshot AI it's a long story I should tell one day but in a way…
honestly this is just mind-blowing - open-source models just keeps pushing higher to challenge the latest closed-weights models far at the frontier of capabilities and you can run them everywhere - for a fraction of the price Also, the @Kimi_Moonshot team has been shipping a…

I spoke to Hugging Face cofounder @Thom_Wolf about the Reachy Mini, and the company's bet on cute, desktop robotic devices to bring open source AI models into people's homes. TBH, I think the Reachy Mini is one of a few AI devices people I know are really excited about.
Modern reasoning models think in plain English. Monitoring their thoughts could be a powerful, yet fragile, tool for overseeing future AI systems. I and researchers across many organizations think we should work to evaluate, preserve, and even improve CoT monitorability.
$1M in Reachy Mini sales. Now we can’t wait to see what you’ll build with it.
so much of school evaluation is still fully based on tasks AI can already do better and faster curriculums are evolving but testing hasn’t caught up
