Reminder: the State of Palestine is not Hamas. The State of Palestine is the one that has experienced 57 times the death toll of October 7 and remained peaceful, not launching a single violent attack in self-defence. A state much more committed to peace than Israel for sure
Israel: The Palestinians reject the two-state solution—they want the entire land. France: We recognize a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, alongside Israel. Palestinian: We agree to that. Israel: Anti-Semitism, October 7th, Hamas, how dare you, etc.
Working towards the establishment of a Palestinian state, co-existing alongside Israel, would be the best way to marginalize Hamas and ensure Israel's security.
Hey @thomasjuneau, recognizing a Palestinian state at this moment would not benefit peace, but it WOULD be an explicit signal to terrorists that terrorism works. You NEVER reward terrorism. This isn't the way towards long lasting peace.
