The UK must immediately recognise Palestinian statehood. There can be no two state solution if there is no viable state left to call Palestine.
The next 50 days will define whether UK/Europe can seize the opportunity of Trump's harder line with Putin to lock in a strategy that can deliver (and define) Ukraine's victory search.app/GaFHwKrPRQ49wx…

Zelensky has signed the bill into law — despite pressure from ongoing protest and the EU. A very dangerous moment for Ukraine.
Today’s shocking bill, which tried to overturn an important anticorruption reform, had the stench of something done in a panic. I understand the immediate trigger may have been activation of investigations into the dealings of presidential-office insiders. economist.com/europe/2025/07…
Happening now: The largest protest of wartime Ukraine is underway in central Kyiv over President Zelensky’s push to dismantle the country’s independent anticorruption agencies. Thousands of protesters and more pouring in. Chants of “Shame!” among others. They demand Zelensky veto…
The law is “bullshit” according to one of the viral organisers of the protest
I believe this is the first viral public call for an antigovernment protest in Kyiv since the start of Russia's full-scale war. And it's from a soldier: "Friends, let's gather for the action and defend what we've built over the last decade. We're meeting at 20:00 on the square…
Protests erupted in Kyiv after the Ukrainian parliament passed a controversial law that could place anti-corruption bodies like NABU under the control of the national prosecution office. Protesters believe this move will undermine Ukraine’s anti-corruption institutions and could…
This is the first large-scale anti-government protest in Ukraine since February 2022; a few thousand are here, demanding Zelensky veto the passage of bill 12414.
The independence and strength of Ukraine's anti-corruption institutions have been key to reform efforts of recent years. #Ukraine will continue to be measured against their progress. #StandWithUkraine

One reason was Ofwat’s indifference to debt-fuelled financial engineering and profiteering. Since privatisation water companies have borrowed £74bn, much of which was used to pay £83bn in dividends. Many companies (including Thames) have leverage ratios nearing 80%.
Hundreds of Israelis are now marching in the center of Tel Aviv against the starvation of Gaza at the hands of the Israeli government. Some are holding sacks of flour.
