Transpo & Climate @NJPolicy. Being from New Jersey is like 50% of my personality. she/they
An apt time to repost this op-ed I wrote w/ Jen Coffey of ANJEC. Yesterday NJ lawmakers announced rollbacks of our flood rules. “How many more historic storms will hit our state — and how many more people need to die — before state policymakers act?” nj.com/opinion/2022/0…
I called the mosquito commission after reading this @byJackieRoman report - they did a full audit and found the problem is on a neighboring property! they sprayed that property, and even came back out today when i said the problem wasn't better! nj.com/healthfit/2025…
Every single traffic death is preventable
This really says it all, doesn’t it? This planter barely lasted a month, at the very intersection where a 6-year-old was recently killed. There are no accidents.
ty for all the likes, no one appreciated this joke in the group chat :(

We cannot build for the best-case scenario. We cannot wish natural disasters away. No amount of hopeful thinking has ever saved anyone from flash floods. from “Murphy administration makes major changes to controversial sea-level rise rule” by @ryrivard subscriber.politicopro.com/article/2025/0…

Today Gov Murphy is touring Berkeley Heights, my hometown where this house is located, and one of the towns hit hardest last night. My heart breaks for the real people suffering every day from the climate crisis while corporate lobbyists push for rollbacks of flood protections.
Like I *KNOW* flooding. My childhood home I lived in for 26 years was in a 100-year flood zone. One of my earliest childhood memories is my dad putting on waders to carry us out one by one during Hurricane Floyd. We had to evacuate to my grandparents house nearby.
Make sure to let @GovMurphy and @NewJerseyDEP know that they need to be doing all they can to protect our state from not just the future of the climate crisis, but the here and now. The everyday disasters that are still managing to drown our state.
This is why it’s so important to keep the NJ PACT flood rules intact. It’s so clear just from today, a random Monday in June, we need to prepare for the reality of the climate crisis now. Because it is here. It is already too late for some. It is happening now.
Good thing we have all the best climate scientists in the world employed at the federal go—what? *holds finger to earpiece* oh. Oh no. Oh dear.
It is absolutely wild that in my fairly short lifetime, we went from having giant, slow-moving, named storms once every 10 years or so, to now having record-breaking rainfall and floods on a random Monday.

the fact that in most of America you need to buy a car (+parking, insurance, maintenance, gas, etc) to live your life because walking, biking, and transit infrastructure is so bad
What's a scam that's so normalized that we don't even realize it's a scam anymore?
A reminder that the PATH carries more people every day than NJ transit trains. The fact that PANYNJ treats it like an afterthought is holding back real economic development in the NYC metro area
Avoid PATH 33rd st line suspended and this is Journal Sq
There is a very good reason that people are calling for legislation requiring that ICE officers have a standardized uniform and badges.
I am literally running out of clever things to write when I repost these alerts (Note: this delay has now been cleared but like might as well save the text copy for next time)
Due to Amtrak signal issues in one of the Hudson River Tunnels, NJ TRANSIT rail service is subject to up to 30-minute delays into and out of Penn Station New York.
