Today I testified on behalf of @immcouncil in front of House Homeland's Border Security and Enforcement subcommittee. I testified about how Trump's diversion of thousands of law enforcement officers to mass deportation work is making us less safe. Watch my opening statement here.
Shame! Shame on the Trump admin for stripping legal status from thousands of our ALLIES, including many we evacuated from Kabul ourselves! This makes our country utterly untrustworthy. No future ally will ever believe our promises; all can be taken away. We lose our honor.
A federal appeals court is allowing Temporary Protected Status for nearly 12,000 Afghans to expire one week after granting them a temporary reprieve from losing the deportation relief news.bloomberglaw.com/daily-labor-re…
Oh really? Explain then how Julio Noriega, a U.S. citizen, was arrested and spent 10 hours in ICE custody before someone even bothered to check his wallet and confirm he was here legally. Also, explain why none of your P.R. spin on this issue EVER mentions collateral arrests.
Lies about ICE PROFILING random people are just that – FABRICATED DISTRACTIONS from the truth. We know who our targets are and have plans when we arrest them, so American communities are safer.
WHOA. Video released by the Venezuelan gov* shows men imprisoned by the Trump administration in CECOT showing and talking about their bruises, scars, and injuries. They say they were beaten and hit, shot with pellet guns, tear gassed, and pepper sprayed. *so yes, grain of salt

On Friday the United States freed men who it had paid El Salvador to imprison without trial for four months. So what led us to there, how did this prisoner swap occur, and what's likely to happen next. I've got you covered in this blog. americanimmigrationcouncil.org/blog/united-st…
This story gibes with a lot of very similar accounts in recent months. People tell ICE that they have some kind of obstacle to deportation, and the ICE officers simply ignore them or insult them and say none of that matters anymore.
In a habeas corpus suit against DHS, Lionel Flores was arrested at his ISAP check-in. When he ask ICE agents why he was being arrested they, said "judges orders don't matter, only the President." After telling them he had a lawyer, they replied "that doesn't matter either."
JUST IN: President Trump’s "big beautiful bill," which he signed into law this month, will add $3.4 trillion to the U.S. national debt over the next decade, according to a new report by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. nbcnews.com/politics/donal…

Update: Luis Carlos José Marcano Silva — a 26-year-old Venezuelan barber — was freed from El Salvador’s CECOT prison and sent back to Venezuela on Friday. miaminewtimes.com/news/venezuela…
New: A 26-year-old living in Florida is among the hundreds of Venezuelans recently sent to El Salvador’s mega prison. I spoke w/ his family — they insist he has no gang ties and say he may have been deported over a tattoo. miaminewtimes.com/news/was-a-ven…
It is very weird to be in the House in mid July with the appropriations process barely begun and the Republicans just… aren’t doing anything. Even the years where they had the majority and broke the funding process and gave up they at least tried to pass bills. It feels eerie
So the Senate GOP refuses to do a full investigation of Pete Hegseth for using unsecured Signal clones but is going to reopen investigations from 9 years ago into Hillary Clinton's emails?
What do you do when you can't stop the outrage over the Epstein files? Well, you go after Hillary Clinton and her emails, of course. justice.gov/opa/pr/departm…
Judge YOUNG compared Donald Trump to Henry II today, noting the latter's "can someone rid me of this meddlesome priest" line led errant knights to carry out his wishes. Trump, Young said "doesn’t have errant knights, but he’s got Stephen Miller."
