Built my #pidp10 yesterday. Aren't they a happy family? Looking forward to the #pidp1 production model :) youtube.com/watch?v=z8evGF…

So turns out a twistor is like the spinorial version of plücker coordinates of a line. The incidence relations look very similar even.
Absolutely lovely!
To understand rotations, you must first understand reflections. My CGI2025 talk on coordinate free circular splines. youtu.be/m317-cYs8q4
Wonder if i should look into rust, but i feel like i probably couldn't contain the disappointment.
Talked to a childhood friend who i had only occasionally met a few times since we were around 10. Crazy how many weird details you start to remember as you talk about the time you were 7 or so.
Interesting thing about early emacs implemented in lisp: on the lisp machine it was obvious that emacs would be written in lisp, but on multics this was a *choice*
wtf, elisp doesn't have PROG? i always thought of it as a small maclisp, but this is a huge difference.
Crazy thing: a half adder actually implements complex multiplication between {1, i}: the half-sum is the new element, the carry bit the sign. From this you can then build signed complex multiplication. Of course actual numbers and addition and such come in much later.
S-expressions are well known, but what about S-expressionism? Surely there must be S-impressionism too? But what is an S-impression? so many questions...
This is seriously hilarious. The whole idea of Vulkan was doomed from the beginning. Clearly not the future
DX12 is 10 years old now. It's not modern anymore. Most of the complexity of DX12 and Vulkan APIs is simply not needed anymore. We don't need to support 13 year old Intel iGPUs and 12 year old mobile chips anymore. Metal 3.0 binding model is much more clean. Just GPU pointers.
LLMs have brought into sharp relief the immense cultural discrepancy between those who view programming/writing/thinking as instrumental to their process of learning, understanding and discovery, vs. those who view them as necessary evils in the course of "building" a "product".
Finally got around to setting up a VPN to my home network. It's so cozy now :)
Got sucked into latin yesterday. Read first meditation of Descartes and some Ceasar. I should do this more!
