For everyone who would rather see a flower, than a toxic politician on their timeline! #flower #garden #gardening
I wish to confess that I once believed open-heartedly in the bygone mythic image of academia and university life— full of tweed jackets, perpetual autumnal moods, and late-night colloquys with peers mutually devoted to the pursuit of knowledge. Getting over this has been hard.
An accurate and informative thread for everyone enraged by the appearance of the intersex gambit in yesterday's hearing in Dundee.
The most concerning thing about the nonsense spouted about bone marrow transplants & chromosomal conditions yesterday was wondering how this would land with the panel. Rare conditions are, sadly, too often weaponised (I fear "our" side is also guilty), so a 🧵
This is not the Woman of The Day post but I thought you might like to know that pickpocket and fence Mary Frith of London died OTD in 1659 at the age of 73, famed for smoking a pipe, drinking, swearing, wearing breeches and generally outraging just about everyone. She cared so…
The little village of Castleton is a gem in the Peak District hills. It's definitely not a "hidden" one or a quiet one anymore, but it still rewards you richly for exploring and you can find peaceful spots if you venture away from the most popular areas. There has been a…
The fattest and most scrumptious of flowers. A rare fusion of fluff and majesty. The peony is now coming into bloom. - Henry Mitchell ~ Peonies Oil painting Katie G Whipple
'St Ives.' Christopher Wood’s trip to Cornwall in 1926 was vital to the development and emergence of his distinctive simplistic and deliberately naïve style, these and the work he completed in Brittany rank among the greatest paintings in his oeuvre.
It’s called negging, and it’s a manipulation tactic where someone gives a backhanded compliment or a disguised insult to undermine your confidence while pretending to show interest. The goal is to make you seek their approval, i’m so glad you ain’t fall for it!
Oh so so so so so very stupid
Museums Galleries Scotland has responded to the EHRC Consultation. It is concerned that the interim guidance is not in the “spirit of inclusion”. It is also worried about the “1.1 million intersex people in the UK”. museumsassociation.org/museums-journa…
If they're going to throw around ridiculous made-up stats why not go the extra mile and claim there are 20 million 'intersex' people in the UK.
Another glorious, much-needed fact check from @FondOfBeetles
Nonsense from Miller here. 🙄 As cells and tissues age, they can shed chromosomes. The most obvious time point is during division, and the older you are, the more cells you’ve divided, the higher the chances some of them have lost a chromosome or two. This happens to both…
Falsification of tribunal documentation is extremely serious and calls a practitioner's character and conduct into question. It also risks bringing the profession into disrepute, which will certainly be of concern to the @gmcuk. I think this may well be Dr. Upton's achilles heel.
Is no rule against suggesting to a witness that he has shown bias. What is concerning is what is implicit in asking witness whether he was told what to try to find & conclude, as that implicitly casts aspersions on those who instructed the expert. Need some foundation for that.
Were you asked to come up with a report that proved that Dr Upton was lying? Naomi's assistant protests that NHS Fife KC is totally out of order I've never seen behaviour like this is a Tribunal Judge is now trying to consolidate Mr B's testimony Helpful

People attending A&E departments are often in distress and not infrequently at the very lowest points of their lives. Making them comply with the delusions of narcissistic medical staff, on top of all this, is nothing short of cruel.
Yes, absolutely disgusting abuse.
As an adult human female with Turner Syndrome who has a few stories about the medical profession so tired of how DSDs are being misused and misrepresented
