St Timothy tuition is $25k/year ($325k total, at today’s rates). 40 students are enrolled. There are about 6,600 special education students in Plano ISD alone. In no way will “an entire generation” be served well by vouchers. #vOUCHershurt #pastors4txkids
As I travel our state, I talk to parents in every city and region about school choice. Financial need is stopping many families from providing their children with the education they deserve. School choice will empower an entire generation of Texans to afford education options.
Let’s be clear. A ban on “tax payer funded lobbying” is an attack on communities and schools. Charter schools aren’t prohibited and elected officials aren’t prohibited from taking lobby money. This is an attack on local control and an attempt to silence rural Texans.
Why is the charter school lobby cut out of the bill?
Why is the charter school lobby cut out of the bill?
Billionaire funded lobbying is the USAID of Texas. Billionaires hire lobbyists and PR groups to push their personal narratives and then make huge campaign contributions to politicians to buy their representation!! Best Representation Money can Buy!!

Sigh...Taxpayer funded "lobbying" is paid for by taxpayers. otherwise they would have no way of having their voices heard. Why not join with me and advocate for Campaign Contribution Guardrails! #TXLege
TPPF is hot garbage. They are puppet for the billionaires who want to make sure we can’t stop their power grab.
This right-wing advocacy outfit pays 0 in property taxes while it lobbies #txlege to defund neighborhood schools. It’s past time to end this sweetheart deal for @TPPF & make them pay their fair share. Read more here: texasmonthly.com/news-politics/…

Not only is this type of thinking not conservative, it is dangerous. This a push by the state GOP to remove the will of the people and their vote. First they blocked Texans voting on ESAs. Now this. Bond elections allow those impacted to decide rather than delegating our rights.
Why do local elections matter? Because 258 bond packages on the ballot could add $36 billion in new debt—pushing Texas local debt over $500 billion. That’s half a trillion. Yes, with a T.
It would be a great thing if the scores were legitimate. Changing the scales after the results have come in because they didn't match the Governor's agenda isn't exactly legitimate.
The school board chose not to give them one because they had no money. It goes back to the state legislature lack of funding and @GregAbbott_TX withholding billions of appropriated dollars to get is voucher scheme passed. The #txlege and governor are to blame not local boards.
Reagan wanted to return education to your locally elected school boards. @GregAbbott_TX and his vouchers ARE not conservative!
There you have it.
Like I’ve said before, the state is not adequately funding public education. They have not provided new money for public education. It is a shell game where your tax dollars go to Abbott and Patrick donors.
Paul Colbert, a former Texas House member and education budget chair - and maybe one of the few people in Texas who truly understand school finance —testified at the House Public Ed committee on Thursday. Colbert blew apart the narrative being pushed by Gov Abbott and @TPPF that…
Let’s set the record straight! Texas public schools serve ALL students, and it’s up to us to use our voices to advocate for them. These are some of the most common myths spread about our public school system—don’t let misinformation take the lead. ⬇️ fotps.org/post/debunking…
Paying to buy down property tax rates is NOT new funding. Go to your local school board meeting. Look at the state funding template. Ask questions. Our state government is broken, not your neighbors and friends.
Public education funding in Texas is at an ALL-TIME HIGH. Last session, Texas added more than $6 BILLION in new funding. This year, we’ll add more than $5 BILLION. Don't believe anyone telling you otherwise.
