The US of America was not 'settled'. Native Americans were forcibly removed from their lands, treaties were broken. It was a codified, systematic, #genocide.
"...there is something deeply wrong with the manner in which, in our own lands, antiracism does not begin with, and reflect, the totality of Native peoples' lived experience-that is, with the genocide that established and maintains all of the settler states within the Americas...
I'm not a liberal, lol. What little education you must have had on the subject was only thinly disguised patriotic indoctrination. "Western liberal democracy" is rooted in colonialism, obviously. Dems/Reps are branches of the same tree and that includes "woke" black people, too.
By 'apply sovereignty' you mean 'annex'....or in plain man's language, formally 'steal'.
You should know that when it comes to Natives and White Supremacy, you're on the same page as the liberals, lol.
You equate greatness with dumb brute force. And they were not easily invaded and conquered, it took 300+ years. Natives fought against multiple empires, state militias, Buffalo Soldiers, and genocidal "frontier" riffraff rabble. And there was never a border, it was all frontier.
Zionists hated the British so much they resorted to terrorism to force them out but we're supposed to believe that the simple Palestinians couldn't see the writing on the wall. Ofc, you're an American? All of those colonial genocides have worked out in your favor.
When I was young I didn’t understand why settler colonizers weren’t treated with more contempt. The general perception seemed to be that the Americans meant to kill people and it was just an unintentional byproduct of White Supremacist policies.
When I was young I didn’t understand why Communists weren’t treated with more contempt. The general perception seemed to be that the Nazis meant to kill people and it was just an unintentional byproduct of Communist policies. I never really agreed with that. But it’s also why…
The genocidal nature of settler colonialism is only ever in "abeyance," never a thing of the past. Patriotic indoctrination has always served to conceal the brutal reality of expropriation, settler colonialism. So, patriotic Americans who refuse to confront this reality are bots.
So many of us are in utter denial about the eugenicidal turn that’s being actively cultivated and bankrolled, before our very eyes
Jamestown was founded after the first waves of novel diseases wiped out a lot of indigenous people. The Black Death wiped out 1/3rd to 2/3rds of Europe, however the European population was able to recover because they didn’t face a genocidal settler colonial project.
There were less than 10 million Native Americans in all of North America when Jamestown was founded. It was basically uninhabited.
When you think total domination over the land, means of production, and codified second class citizenship isn’t economic lmao
The root of American capitalism, imperialism, and exploitation is in the dispossession and occupation of indigenous land.
25% of humanity is under US sanctions. 54 countries. 2 billion people. This is what the Empire excels in; subjugation through scarcity and denial; creating the conditions to stifle and break collective will power until that country accepts America's mandate. 2 million people in…
Trump wants the @Commanders football team to bring back their old name: R–skins, a dictionary-defined racial slur. Research shows racist mascots harm Native youth. Research also found the mascots makes white ppl feel better about being white. espn.com/espn/story/_/i…
Research has found exposure to racist mascots decreases Native youth’s self esteem, feelings of community worth (i.e. feeling proud to be Native), and their hope for what they can be for when they grow up. This holds true for Native youth who say racist mascots don’t offend them.
Research found the opposite is true for white folks. After exposure to a racist mascot on a T-shirt white participants reported a boost in self esteem. They also liked & identified more with the white person wearing the racist t-shirt.
I have. I've met people with down syndrome, cancer, MS, alzheimers, paraplegics - all living on the streets. They die. Very soon after they stop being able to access medical care, people with disabilities on the streets just die.
I have never seen a homeless person with Down syndrome
