Children use and apply what they learn from explicit teaching when undertaking meaningful writing experiences. In turn, because children are undertaking meaningful writing experiences, they become increasingly interested in your explicit teaching.
The quickest, cheapest and easiest way to improve children’s enjoyment and outcomes in writing is to support them to generate their own writing ideas for class writing projects.
