The WMBC has found it necessary to remove the lock from our Grimley car park. Any birders wishing to visit Camp Lane Pits are strongly advised to use the WMBC car park for safer, free parking for the next few days whilst the Night Heron remains present.
Black-crowned Night Heron has been a species of myth and legend in Worcestershire for decades. Finally it falls! Grimley -Camp Lane Pits 15/07/25. Wondeful to see it feeding so actively this morning #WorcsBirds
The blustery conditions and rain made for some better birding today, with a Turnstone, Wood Sandpiper and Garganey all new arrivals.
The Black Crowned Night Heron showed beautifully at Grimley, Camp Lane Pools this morning, in the South East corner of the main pit, viewed through the gaps in the branches from the walkway across. A lifer for me and UK species 215! #worcsbirds @WestMidBirdClub
