APOE4 is the strongest genetic risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease. A study in @Nature establishes a functional link between APOE4, cholesterol, myelination and memory, offering therapeutic opportunities for Alzheimer’s disease. go.nature.com/3EN1Yyi
We are pleased to announce that our height GWAS: A Saturated Map of Common Genetic Variants Associated with Human Height is published in @Nature today! This is a fantastic effort involving >600 GIANT consortium investigators and @23andMe.

Together with @The_MRC @calico @ChanZuckerberg @cziscience we will create the world’s largest longitudinal imaging dataset. By capturing a repeat set of whole body scans on 60,000 UK Biobank participants, researchers will be able to assess changes in their physiology over time.
Happy to share our new paper in @molpsychiatry🥳! We found: 1) subcortical volumes share substantial SNPs with schizophrenia, 2) shared genes are enriched in neurodevelopmental processes, and 3) two genes are associated with thalamic volume in childhood. nature.com/articles/s4138…

🚨Really excited to see this finally out! 🧬Most common genetic variants associated with mental disorders are also associated with others, as well as with cognitive & personality traits. 🧠Conceptual insights on the genetics of mental disorders inbound... ajp.psychiatryonline.org/doi/full/10.11…
New preprint!! We found: 1) two schizophrenia gene sets with pre- versus postnatal cortical expression, 2) these sets associate with distinct neurodevelopmental processes, and 3) set-specific polygenic scores interact to predict diagnosis. Read more: medrxiv.org/content/10.110…
