This truck was stopped this morning on I-5 near Tacoma. The trailer was leaking milk as the officer conducted their inspection.
🚛Heads up, Washington drivers. Tomorrow, WSP will be conducting a commercial vehicle emphasis patrol along the entire I-5 corridor. We’ll be keeping an eye out for moving violations. Stay safe, stay focused, and buckle up!
As a reminder, our emphasis is in full force right now. Several stops happening up and down the I-5 corridor. Please drive safely!

I-5 Marysville⛓️🚨 This is another post to remind you to conduct your pre-trip inspections. The pintle hook broke off the truck hauling this trailer causing it to become wedged under a passing log truck. The safety chains had broken, and the breakaway wasn't connected.

This setup was rolling down I-5 in Everett with serious issues, to name a few: 🚨 10K lbs over limit 🚨 No breakaway cable 🚨 No trailer brakes 🚨 Worn safety chain 🚨 Overweight on all 4 trailer tires 🚨 Tire rubbing frame 🚨Missing lug nuts Put out of service + tickets issued.

🚛If you'd like the wheels on your bus or truck to continue going round and round, make sure you're checking your wheels. This truck was stopped in Skagit County on I-5. A majority of these lug nuts were loose or missing on these two wheels! Truck was placed out of service.

This truck was stopped by CVEOs for hauling this boat on a flatbed trailer on I-5 in Stanwood today. It was over 16’ tall and over 11’ wide, had no pilot cars or permit.

Exhibit A of the importance of taking your pre-trip inspections seriously. This trailer frame broke while the truck was driving down the road on I-5 in Snohomish County.

🚨REMINDER🚨 Chains are required to be carried on all vehicles over 10,000lbs GVWR on Washington passes Nov 1 – Apr 1. For more clarification on requirements and routes, please visit: wsdot.wa.gov/travel/commerc… @wspd2pio @wspd7pio @wspd6pio @SnoqualmiePass @wsdot

The Washington State Patrol CVEB will also be working this emphasis patrol.
The WSP is holding a statewide emphasis on Sept. 27 in honor of fallen Trooper Christopher Gadd #927, who was killed after being struck by an impaired driver on March 2, 2024. Before the incident, he messaged his detachment that he would meet up with them after "One More Stop."
This happened on 18 near the Green River Bridge. Motorcycle slowed to let traffic merge due to a barrel in the road. The semi was not able to stop in time. Thankfully only minor injuries. The truck apparently had major brake issues.
It’s Operation Safe Driver Week, a nation wide emphasis. CVEOs and Troopers are on the lookout for CMVs and passenger car drivers engaging in risky behaviors in or around CMVs. #DriveSafe @CVSA @wastatepatrol

#SecureYourLoad
Our CVEOs have been working diligently focusing on load securement during this month’s emphasis. This vehicle was stopped for a cell phone violation, and upon inspection did not have his excavator secured by any means, nor was the emergency braking system attached. #secureload
A semi-truck was hauling this load of hay and was stopped for not securing their load (at all!) on SR904 in Cheney. It was placed OOS for the load securement violation, as well as issues with the trailer brakes, and suspension. #SecureYourLoad
