Today we remember Trooper Cliff Hansell. Trooper Clifford “Cliff” Hansell died on July 22, 1987, at the age of 25, as a result of a collision with a semi-truck. At the time of his death, Trooper Hansell had served 17 months with the WSP. #GoneButNeverForgotten
Earlier today, family, WSP staff, and local law enforcement gathered for a private memorial dedication honoring Trooper Christopher Gadd, who was killed by an impaired driver on March 2, 2024. Thank you to all who helped make the memorial possible. #GoneButNeverForgotten

This setup was rolling down I-5 in Everett with serious issues, to name a few: 🚨 10K lbs over limit 🚨 No breakaway cable 🚨 No trailer brakes 🚨 Worn safety chain 🚨 Overweight on all 4 trailer tires 🚨 Tire rubbing frame 🚨Missing lug nuts Put out of service + tickets issued.
Our 911 dispatchers just received a call about a vehicle driving NB I5 in Federal Way. The caller advised the vehicle was erratic and had almost crashed multiple times. Troopers located the vehicle and the driver was arrested for suspected impairment. Almost 4x the legal limit!!

1/ This motorcycle was observed SB 167 near S. 212th speeding and performing stunts. A trooper tried to stop the bike while it was at a red light. The motorcycle attempted to fled and but struck the open door of the patrol vehicle. The bike was impounded for 30 days.
