Marcus, I guess
@UnusualReadings
Dad. #Collapsed MMA guy. Film head. Lions diehard. 2014 Cheap Seats Football League Champ. Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon is vastly underrated as a comedy.
Here's part two of a tribute episode I hastily threw together for the late, great Jordan Breen. This time I was joined by longtime SRN staple @BrandonfrmNJ to try to put into words what it was like to call in to & be a fan of his once-in-a-lifetime show. youtu.be/6_H45U9Ameo
Thanks for the music, Ozzy Osbourne - Rest easy
Royston Wee. The Great Singaporean Hope.
name the most random MMA fighter you can think of? I’m not talking about Cowboy Cerrone. I want fighters no one’s mentioned in years.
Nope. Absolutely not. Not this guy. Not Tom Nichols. You are wholly unqualified to participate in this discussion. You ain't the one, brother. Go pretend you saw Midnight Run in the theater again. That oughta regain some lost boomer clout
A fine Death of Expertise moment here. "Are you an economist?" "I could be." "But you're not?" "I'm gonna major in it."
“To me it seems Hitler has won. He’s changed us J€w$ from being compassionate and caring…into this vicious, genocidal, nationalist nation,” —Miriam Margolyes, an 83-year-old Jewish Australian-British actor publicly condemns 1$rael's actions in Gaza
Anna Gunn
name a woman that didn’t deserve the hate she got
I've grown to love alot of @ringer folks. CR & Fennessey & Van are my favorites. Bill Simmons = internet sportswriting GOAT But HOLY SHIT, if you click on those podcasts in the wrong mood, you will be downright nauseated by the amount of naval-gazing that goes on over there.
This one just gave me goosebumps. Happy retirement to one of the greatest fighters to ever set foot inside the Octagon. What a career. There are so many Dustin Poirier fights that are already forgotten to time. He fought everybody.
I want to be like Robbie Lawler when I grow up
I'm one of those longtime MMA fans who thinks the Nogueira brothers actually look pretty different
We’re now in the “walls are closing in on Trump” part of the story arc that always happens right before there are still no political or legal consequences. We’re all going to die before he does.
These Coldplay concerts are getting out of hand
I QT'd this earlier & deleted bc I didn’t want to seem disrespectful. But ... that's Big Nog, right? I always thought Rodrigo had a slightly rounder face & wider smile. I swear it's Rodrigo! I'd love to be proven wrong. Thoughts @BrandonfrmNJ @FullContactMTWF @goldberg_ebooks?
Dan Severn, Don Frye, and Antônio Rogério Nogueira (aka “Lil Nog”) are true forefathers of MMA — warriors who helped shape the sport long before it became mainstream.
I used to believe that constantly traveling was a sign of being a free spirit. But in truth, most people I’ve known who live this way (including my past self) are often ungrounded or dissociated - endlessly searching for meaning outside themselves. The need to constantly uproot…
Also gotta mention that @StephenQuadros is all over this episode. TJ officially announces his upcoming SRN radio show & he hangs out on the phone for like an hour. Such a great time. Quadros seems like such a nice guy. It was really cool to hear him & Breen go back and forth.
It was Johnny from Jersey! Listened to the UFC 71 BATB @TJDeSantis & it's a true time capsule. The Jordan Breen Show is officially announced. Josh Gross is handing the phone to Houston Alexander & Terry Martin as they're signing autographs. Mixed martial arts just felt ALIVE.

SHERDOG RADIO NETWORK TRIVIA TIME!!!! Who was the first ever SRN listener to call in to Beatdown After the Bell?
rewatched barry lyndon last night and forgot it is one of the funniest movies i’ve ever seen, totally undeserving of its reputation as a period drama for self-serious aesthetes. there is a laugh out loud moment every other scene
This is a false premise. There was NO telling what Blockbuster would have. While it's true that you'd likely find some strange movies at your SavMart video store, you'd be just as likely to go to Blockbuster & find a Rod Stieger movie from 1983 that 75 total people saw.
Blockbuster was rubbish. The local video store had copies of foreign movies, movies that had been on TV once in 1977, Blaxploitation, stuff PBS gave away in pledge drives, adult section obscured by beads, etc. Blockbuster had 800 copies of Independence Day 🙄

Daniel Kaluuya. Come back to us. This is a very troubling development for the man who is quite possibly my favorite current actor. And he's got some dumbshit guru?? No. Not okay.
Do not make the mistake of giving Dana White credit for something. Especially not pertaining to money. He's undermined fighters for decades. He can pick and choose to go full Oprah when it suits him because he has the means. You can't buy your way to being a good person.
say what you want about him, but he also paid for Cain Velasquez’s $1M bail and we only found out about it because Cain mentioned it in a podcast
