OTD in 1943, Bill Cameron was captured in Tunisia. Handed to the Germans and sent to Stalag Luft III, he was a tunneller, taking part in the Great Escape. He survived the war, returning to Canada to start a family. Our episode with his family is out next year! Credit: DVFP

PRU MONUMENT We were delighted to meet Dawn recently, the niece of F/Lt Paul Riches DFC who was the nav of Mosquito LR412 when it crashed in Feb 1944. We met her at the gravesite of the two airmen in Chessington, a funeral that she attended when she was just 1 month old.

MOSQUITO MONDAY Today we feature PR.XVI MM364 seen here at RAF Mount Farm for hand over to USAAF forces. Despite several accidents and incidents, this Mosquito would survive the war to be scrapped in November 1953.

SPITFIRE SUNDAY Today’s subject is the prototype Spitfire PR.XI EN654. This aircraft first flew in May 1943 before service with 16 Sqn from October. In June 1945 it was modified as a mail carrier for Fighter Command Communications & was eventually sold off in August 1947.
