the science around ME is at a tipping point, the government must fund further research⬇️ thetimes.com/uk/healthcare/…
The BMJ have a long history of being anti-ME/CFS and the recent opinion piece has been disheartening. Ramsay mentioned this and Wessely in a letter just months before he died in 89. That said, it’s been good to see such strong pushback in the responses bmj.com/content/389/bm…
This isn't the last of our Ramsay letters but it is his last that we have in our archive, 'IYSWIM'. He refers to being ill. He died four months later. #mecfs #cfsme "For many months we have been in difficulty by the influence exerted by a psychiatrist, Dr. Simon Wessly (sic)".

Sean O’Neill on Times Radio talking about the new government delivery plan for ME/CFS “I’ve never seen a plan that lacks detailed quite such as this. I think it you couldn’t really call it a plan at all, it’s a kind of wish list.” youtu.be/wu21bQ6GEg4?si…
“Do you think Israel is committing war crimes?” “Yes, I do. I think it's absolutely plain that they are.” Despite Israel’s right to self-defence after Oct 7, its response is ‘entirely disproportionate’ and violates international law, says Lord Sumption. @AyeshaHazarika
“I have no ideological position on this conflict. I approach it simply as a lawyer and a historian. But I sometimes wonder what Israel’s defenders would regard as unacceptable, if the current level of Israeli violence in Gaza is not enough. This is not self-defence. It is not…
It’s 30 June….the ME Delivery Plan is a no-show. It’s unacceptable. #pwME have been left in darkness for too long. I’m with @HelenMorganMP: ‘The government must think again, publish the plan without delay, and allocate it the resources it needs to make a real difference.’

wouldn't normally write about a "live" prosecution but, hey, if @Keir_Starmer can stick his oar in, then I can express the view that the @Kneecap case is a politically-motivated waste of police and court time that makes a mockery of terrorism legislation thetimes.com/comment/column…
"What Ó hAnnaidh did was reckless and provocative, but did it make him a terrorist or a terrorist sympathiser? If the threshold for police action is really so low, why on earth is the Met not pursuing the Royal Shakespeare Company for incitement to murder by selling fridge…
Great presentation made by Prof Chris Ponting to the APPGs on ME & Long Covid about the ongoing failure to fund research into ME. @UKRI_News has failed #pwME. Time for @wesstreeting to step in. Please share. @tessamunt @TimesONeill Pt2 in next post.
on the day @KNEECAPCEOL are in court, I'm wondering when the @metpoliceuk are going to start investigating the @TheRSC for selling these inflammatory fridge magnets?
