We use trigger warnings about suicide and other harms, but coping with posts from destructive politicians just as damaging to my mental health. Trigger Warning: Bat-shit crazy ex-PM whose opinions will turn your brain inside out.

Iain Clifford Stamp runs a "sovereign citizen" scam which promises people he'll magically eliminate their mortgage and other debt (for a hefty fee). A judgment on Wednesday shows justice is catching up with him. Thread.
I’m not even a left-winger and I think this was desperate stuff. That MP was a class act.
A leading Labour left winger on the suspensions tells me: “This is desperate stuff. It shows how thin-skinned Keir Starmer is. He actually changed position on welfare as a result of what these and MPs did. This makes the PM look so weak.”
I understand this may look bad, but who wants that job? He’s been in post for only 1.5 years Thames water has been circling the drain for longer than that. The current CEO’s role is just to keep TW alive under colossal pressure. In that context, he may merit his bonus.
If Thames Water is doing so badly that it needed to borrow literally three billion quid at credit card interest rates just to stay solvent, what's the justification for the chief exec's pay rise?
Why does the @guardiannews write such bad headlines? “But there are barely any” / “but they don’t exist” / “but there aren’t any” Would all seem easier to digest to me. Perhaps it’s much lack of journalist skill, but they seem to water down their messages with this.

🚨 NEW: The Lib Dems have reported the BBC to Ofcom for giving "undue prominence" to Reform UK in its coverage of the UK-France deal yesterday
A few people have asked me what I think of this list. Some of the items are realistic. Some (including the big ticket items) are not. Some are too vague to assess.
The problem is an exploitative, extractive economic system rigged against most people and our planet. The solution is not further cuts - we need to tax extreme wealth instead. 10 alternative proposals to disability benefit cuts from Labour MPs last week, totalling up to £120bn:
To understand the context of Leveson’s call for restricting jury trial, look at the terms of reference. Govt wouldn’t let him recommend increased funding. Akin to demanding a solution to starvation that doesn’t include food. And the recommendation being to chop off body parts.
I worry that the Left has stopped making the argument for a more expansive state funded by most people paying more tax. Instead we're left with the false claim that Other People will always pay.
This looks very exciting! I hope follow-up studies are planned.

"Raise tax on billionaires" not a radical idea - it's been talked about endlessly for decades. Dan Neidle of Tax Policy Associates talks very well about this question: youtube.com/watch?v=oO25Zk…
There are 4.5 million children living in poverty in the UK. Meanwhile, there are more British billionaires than ever before. I think we should tax the rich to lift children out of poverty. Why is that such a radical idea?

Was at the Spectator summer party this evening and when the story broke that Sultana and Corbyn are starting a new party of the left there was a cheer from some of the Reform figures. “They’ll take 10% of Labour’s vote,” said one. news.sky.com/story/politics…
Woken up by a massive boom this morning which is shaking buildings. Seems a petrol station exploded.
Esplosione pazzesca a Roma, tra quadraro e Centocelle. Ho visto una fiammata altissima e ha tremato tutta casa.
However big the issue is, I fail to see how multiple failure - Jeremy Corbyn - is the solution to our problems.

Tonight’s huge climbdown is testament to the countless disabled people who have tirelessly fought these cuts. Yes, UC was a loss and there’s more to do, but let’s not underplay this: a government with a vast majority has been forced to u-turn. Because of the disabled community.
