helping ethereum win
I’m thrilled to introduce Protocol: a new structure for @ethereumfndn’s R&D teams! Our focus: scale L1, scale blobs, and improve UX, without compromising on Ethereum's core values. The world is ready for the world computer. It's on us to deliver it.
Announcing Protocol blog.ethereum.org/2025/06/02/ann…
We made progress on Glamsterdam scoping today by narrowing the set of CL headliners to one of these three. If you have additional input for/against one of these proposals, please add here: ethereum-magicians.org/t/soliciting-s… (n.b. the 6 sec slots EIP is 7782)
Three EIPs were CFI'd for Glamsterdam today: - EIP 7732, ePBS - EIP 7783, six-second slot times - EIP 7805, FOCIL The plan is to reach a decision on which of these to SFI on the next ACDC call in two weeks.
okay okay, i heard the requests forkcast now has the most critical feature for shipping network upgrades: dark mode 🌙
everyone is forming an opinion about glamsterdam EIP’s, but almost no one understands the technical implications of each proposal here is a direct comparison of the headliner EIP’s along the dimensions that matter:
EIP-7907, which increases the contract code size limit and adds a gas metering to code loading, was recently removed from Fusaka because it just wasn't ready and could've delayed the whole upgrade ⚔️▶️ 7907 does not currently have a designated technical champion. It is NOT…
would have been very nice and there were months to get it properly ready but it just didn't have the support it needed to get ready in time. with the timeline so tight now, there was practically no other option. hopefully someone steps up and champions it better for glamsterdam
Before the free option problem blows out of hand and is used as a drawning man last attempt to butcher or stop ePBS. Yes it's a problem. Yes it can be serious. But also there's many attenuations and other considerations: 0/7
We need your feedback on Glamsterdam headliners: ethereum-magicians.org/t/soliciting-s…
I partnered with @Data_Always to provide our MEV perspective on the Glamsterdam upgrade. TLDR: While BALs are uncontroversially good for the EL, there is no standout candidate for the CL. Every option has clear pros & cons, some of which surprised us. collective.flashbots.net/t/an-mev-persp…
⚡forkcast.org/feedback is now a perma-redirect to where you can give timely feels within the ACD process currently that points to a new thread where you can give feedback on how glamsterdam headliners affect you ✨
1/6 🧵 This Thursday's ethereum protocol development call: ACDC #161 24 Jul 14:00 UTC Devs need a stable devnet-3 soon to keep us on track for Fusaka in 2025. Glamsterdam headliner deliberations begin in earnest - YOUR 🫵 input may be needed. Also a new SSZ type is proposed
🧵This week’s EF Protocol research update covers new posts on * Modelling delayed execution & ePBS in the context of shorter slot times * The road to gigagas L1 * FOCIL specification improvements * Statelessness progress updates All posts🔗👇🏼
Understand the reasons that a protocol has hardness, critically evaluate and verify them, and then trust that protocol in proportion to how trust-worthy it really is. x.com/davidmarcus/st…

HEY would ethereum stakeholders be interested in joining a community call next wednesday 10am(ET)/2pm(UTC) to talk about the glamsterdam headliners?
next mev-boost community call is scheduled for next week! will discuss fusaka and potential glamsterdam impacts to builder/relay ecosystem hope to see you there! link to details in next tweet

Today, @lodestar_eth posted its thoughts on the Glamsterdam headliner. We believe that EPBS gives the protocol an optimized path forward for future scaling. Optimize the pipeline, improve liveness, trustless builders, parallelize CL+EL dev + FOCIL bonus???blog.chainsafe.io/lodestars-glam…
each blockchain selects technical + cultural tradeoffs that make it better suited to some use cases and not others the reason I'm an ethereum fan = it selected better tradeoffs than other blockchains for building The Future of Finance. that's the usecase I find most interesting
EIP-7782: 6 slot times cuts the block time in half. this would improve UX, interop, and MEV an additional unexpected benefit is that shortened slot times could improve scaling by reducing the deadtime in each slot
EIP-7805: FOCIL = fork-choice inclusion lists adds more proposers during each slot to improve censorship resistance of the network would reduce inclusion time of censored txs and also reduce the dependence on home stakers for censorship resistance
EIP-7886: DE = delayed execution also extends the propagation and execution windows mutually exclusive with ePBS, but more focused on the execution than consensus
EIP-7732: ePBS = enshrined proposer builder separation restructures the slot to reduce deadtime and extend the propagation and execution windows it’s possible ePBS might increase inclusion time (which is bad), although this is heavily disputed and depends on builder behavior
EIP-7928: BAL’s = block access lists enables parallel processing of each block when combined with a cap on max tx size (EIP-7825) the benefits of parallelism might not be ready until later on after glamsterdam
