When I see things like this, from people like this, at this stage, I assume they're expecting that things are about to spiral. They're not acting, they're making ass-covering statements. Why have they suddenly decided their ass needs cover?

Compare and contrast the media silence on this with the solid month of plaudits Hilary Benn got for standing up and saying “ISIS are very naughty, let’s bomb Syria”

How it always goes: wars, austerity, entire election campaigns and governments, this genocide. Everyone who matters unites in the period where the horrors might yet be averted to ensure they aren’t, and that anyone who says they should be is stomped into the earth. Later: silence
