We would like to thank Lord Russell, @dianabarran, @natalieben, @SirGeorgeYoung for their support last week on an amendment to the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill that would require councils to notify schools and GPs when a child is placed into temporary accommodation.

Yesterday we were pleased to elect our new officers: @JoshBabarinde, the Rt Hon. @AndrewDLansley and the Lord Balfe. We are looking forward to working with them to mitigate the impacts caused to households by the temporary accommodation crisis.

As a member of the APPG for Temporary Accommodation, I’ve been pushing for notifications to be made to schools & GPs when a household is in temporary accommodation. This step is vital to keep vulnerable people safe, especially children, and protect families’ well-being

In her statement, @FloEshalomi addressed the need for better data collection and sharing, to fully understand the health and educational impacts of child homelessness. The @CommonsHCLG's report recommends a formalised notification system, as campaigned for by our SAFE Protocol.
