We shouldn’t be panicked by a text alert when the kids are in school.   We shouldn’t be burying loved ones because they were at a park or out shopping.   We #WearOrange because no one should be victimized by gun violence in our everyday lives. We won’t accept it as the norm.

We’re so incredibly proud to celebrate that this bill is finally on its way to the Governor’s desk. We’re thankful for @SenLouDiPalma, who sponsored this bill, championed it in the Senate, and worked tirelessly to protect Rhode Islanders from preventable gun violence.

Moms Demand Action volunteers have been working with Rhode Island lawmakers for months to ban the sale of assault weapons. Tonight, a ban FINALLY passed the state legislature! We’re grateful to gun sense champion @Rep_Jason, who stood up to gun extremists and never backed down.
