Holinka is eligible to play in the AHL next season but expects to return to the WHL for a final season of junior, per his agent Allan Walsh via @Steve_Dangle He’s an ‘05 which means he’ll count as both an overager and an import should he return to WHL Edmonton
The Leafs sign 2024 5th-rounder Miroslav Holinka to a 3-year ELC. Holinka notched 19 goals and 45 points in 47 games last season as a WHL rookie. Skilled, right-handed center with a solid 6-foot-2 frame. He's a November '05 birthdate, so he's eligible to play in the AHL.
The Red Wings sign Carter Bear to a 3-year ELC. This makes him ineligible to play in the NCAA. He joins Jake O'Brien (SEA), Ben Kindel (PIT), Braeden Cootes (VAN), Lynden Lakovic (WSH), and Aleksei Medvedev (VAN) as 2025 picks to forgo NCAA eligibility and sign ELCs.
