TW: sa in my opinion, you can hold all of these views at the same time: It is right/important that the state must discharge its burden of proof BARD and that the accused only be required to raise a reasonable doubt. The onus of proof was not discharged by the crown.
E.M. Reported, she cooperated with the police. She gave her phone to the investigators. She withstood eight days of cross examination, she explained memory gaps, coping strategies, moments of freezing and self protection, and she ultimately was found “not credible” the verdict…
Breaking: Judge Maria Carrocia tells court she does not find evidence of EM credible or reliable. “Crown cannot meet onus on any counts” against the five defendants.

Oh yeah…. You know I’m trying it. Hey, @grok, who was the most famous person to visit my profile? It doesn't need to be a mutual, don't tag them, just say who it was.
What if Nick Stadjuhar never got into that tilt off the ice…?
What’s an NHL “what if” scenario that you still think about?
How quickly are you willing to put these players back in spots as potential role models?!
The Athletic reports that there is interest in some of the five players among NHL executives. Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, and Dillon Dube highlighted as potential NHL returns. Alex Formenton and Callan Foote seem unlikely to return.
… this is where unions suck.
The Athletic reports that the NHLPA is not happy with the NHL's ruling to indefinitely keep Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Callan Foote, Alex Formenton, and Dillon Dube barred from playing in the league.
6K people liked this tweet. Shameful. Just because defendants are found ‘not guilty’ doesn’t make her any less of a victim. This rationale is worrisome for any parent, person or future SA victim.

“Dude, I’m so happy I left when all the shit went down… Haha. Man, when I was leaving, Duber was smacking this girl’s ass so hard. Like, it looked like it hurt so bad.” – Brett Howden text message to Taylor Raddysh on June 26, 2018. The judge overseeing the sexual assault trial…

Today’s a step back for victims of SA. Stand with, stand for, and protect your kids so they never have to experience this kind of s**t.
David Staples tweet is part of the problem in response to the HC case. “Sign them back up,” is essentially his response, when there are players who can do the same job and don’t need “second chances.” Remember that when you’re reading that tweet. They weren’t “found innocent.”
Sickened by this… believe victims. We’re setting an extremely bad precedent here. Not guilty does not mean innocent.
Ontario Superior Court Justice Maria Carroccia has started reading her decision in the Hockey Canada trial. She says she cannot find E.M.'s testimony "credible or reliable."
A judge is scheduled to announce the verdicts in the sexual assault trials of five former members of Canada’s 2018 world juniors hockey team this morning. Justice Maria Carroccia is expected to begin reading the reasons for her verdicts shortly after court begins at 10 am. It may…
Leavitt is trying to pull Pulitzer’s now… wtf.
Leavitt: Reporters at legacy outlets, some of which are sitting in this room today, were ridiculously awarded pulitzer prizes for their perpetuation of this hoax. It is well past time for those awards to be stripped. It is not journalism to propagate political disinformation in…
The verdicts in the Hockey Canada case will be delivered tomorrow. No matter the outcome, this game is broken, what was done was not how humans should treat others, and more needs to be done to support victims of sexual violence.
