RIP Ray French We're all sad to learn about the death of the former BBC commentator. A great friend of Wales Rugby League, he was a big supporter of the game here. His final BBC TV commentary was Wales v Italy at the Millennium Stadium in the 2013 World Cup. Ein Cydymdeimlad.
Rest in peace, Ray French 🙏 a TRUE Legend and someone who my lovely Son, Rob, loved me to try to impersonate when we played games in our kitchen - Rob always scored and won 😉💔 God Bless you, Ray 🏉🙏 Ps an absolutely fantastic player too 👍

Ray French has died at the age of 85. In 1981, Ray became the main commentator for the BBC on Rugby League, having the tough job of filling the boots of recently retired legend Eddie Waring. He went on to commentate on 27 consecutive Challenge Cup Finals. Ray French 1939-2025
