Absurd gimmick. Stopping asylum seekers from working pushes people into destitution and forces reliance on meagre welfare payments. Time for a common-sense change to law to allow asylum seekers to work - to support themselves and contribute to the economy telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/07/2…
This is disingenuous in the extreme @10DowningStreet you should be ashamed of yourselves some of us have spent a lifetime building educational infrastructure and you are vandalising it & harming children & teachers. It’s shameful.
Labour has turned the tide on teacher recruitment and retention. We've driven up school attendance. We're saving parents money with free breakfast clubs and cheaper uniform costs. The Tories have one policy: cut state school budgets to restore private school tax breaks.
Urban pod-racing anyone?
We are excited to share this raw flight footage including take-off and landing, all with real sound. No special effects, no CGI, no AI, pure engineering. Enjoy the future! A fully functional real-world "speeder bike" that so far only existed in sci-fi movies is finally here.
New education theory: How about, instead of trying to find the next commercial or power-grab buzz phrase or concept, we relook at what makes a good educational experience for a child at each stage of development. This is what the Curriculum and Assessment review should be doing.
This is the nub of it. The left-right, enterprise:capital, 2-dimensional polarity always ignores property because both sides, left & right, like it that way. Property expands calculations into 3-dimensional space & creates the opportunity for UBI. Tax…
Like reforming property tax so the big estates pay something.
Exactly The real inequalities are of choice (where poor families are denied effective choice by the state) and taxpayer funding (where families wanting to choose something other than state, forgo the £8k place they're entitled to). vouchers address both ills.

No school should be subject to inspection while the inspectorate is in this much of a mess. The stakes are too high for schools and school leaders, the government needs to be brave and hit pause before damage is done.
Ofsted has missed nearly all internal inspection targets this year, its staff are less positive about working there and one in 10 left, the watchdog’s annual report and accounts reveal schoolsweek.co.uk/missed-inspect…

The retirement age should be lower. As a rule we all work too many hours for too many years.
🧵 The ECHR just ruled that the UK government’s failure to investigate Russian interference in our elections did not breach our human rights. And here’s why that should alarm every democrat. 👇 @carolecadwalla
Every week we get a read-out from Cabinet - the weekly meeting of the Government's most senior ministers. It's sent round to journalists by No10. And to be honest, normally, it's pretty boring. But this week - it acknowledged something really quite important. A year on for the…

A $20 trillion project proposes a 3,400-mile underwater tunnel connecting London and New York, potentially reducing a 7-hour flight to a 1-hour train ride.
NEW: The court did not find a breach of the law. BUT it upheld 2/3 points inc that foreign interference (inc disinfo) *is* a threat to fair elections (which UK had denied!) Lawyers say hugely significant judgement with far-reaching consequences. AND that an appeal should be…
NEW: Landmark decision on UK's failure to investigate Russian interference to be handed down tomorrow. A five-year legal battle in UK and European courts comes to a head: will we finally - learn the truth about the Kremlin & the Brexit vote?

Child with SEN having to leave independent education because of the VAT. No Year 11 place. What was that about educating "our" children @bphillipsonMP
