To continue our recruitment efforts, we recently re-wrapped an old squad car to have more of a recruitment focus to it! This squad will be driven by Sgt Hurst when he goes to job fairs, career days, and more. You may also see this squad at parades or at events in our community.
The Duluth Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual in the below photo. This male is suspected to be involved in several vehicle prowls, burglary’s, and a vehicle theft that occurred on Park Point after 1:30 a.m. on Monday, June 30. (1/2)

Welcome Robert Wilkins, Nick Moen, and Christopher Garlitz - DPD's three new recruits! Wilkins is a lateral officer who previously worked at Burnsville and Ashland PD, Moen was previously a Community Service Officer for DPD, and Garlitz is a new recruit from the St. Cloud area.
DPD's Commendation Ceremony will be held on Friday, March 21 at 2 p.m. in the Public Safety Building Training Room. This ceremony will acknowledge professional staff who have been hired in 2024, as well as recognize the exceptional work done by our staff and community members.
The Community Service Officer (CSO) Program has evolved into an important recruitment tool for the DPD. Since 2020, 42% of Police Officers hired at DPD were also in our CSO program. For more information: duluthmn.gov/police-recruit…
