Among the 80 students suspended or expelled from Columbia are 5 SWC members, who will soon lose both their jobs and healthcare. Once again, Columbia chooses to support war and Trump admin over its own students and workers. It's up to us, not the bosses, to defend our community.
OFFICIAL CUAD PRESS RELEASE: In a historic first, Columbia has suspended nearly 80 students for participating in a teach-in honoring Basel al-Araj. The announcement comes just ahead of the University's deal with the Trump administration and the Anti-Defamation League.
Today, after the first strike of a criminal defense provider in New York City since 1994, BxD Union’s Collective Bargaining Committee reached a tentative agreement with Management. (1/3)
Legal aid workers in New York City with @UAW are on strike! Many struggle to make ends meet, despite providing critical services for working class New Yorkers. This is just the beginning as more workers across the sector prepare to join them as the strike grows.
Columbia has left me and my fellow grad student instructors with zero idea of if we’ll be teaching (and therefore if we’ll have a stipend, insurance, etc) in the fall — a clear effort to break our union as we launch our contract fight
Columbia is replacing union labor as we negotiate a new contract. Admin is emailing other universities to recruit teachers, while refusing to reappoint returning SWC instructors, who still don't know if they will teach or get paid in September. This is textbook union busting
Sign the pledge!

Show support for our comrades at Columbia as they also bargain this year! Our admins are following the same playbook: underpaying and replacing the next generation of scholars because they care more about the endowment than teaching and research.
The cynicism is appalling, even for Columbia. We call on our fellow workers in higher ed: sign the open letter to CU & pledge not to replace our labor. tinyurl.com/core-open-lett… Let's fight for a more just and democratic workplace for all
Yesterday a @cfa_united union leader, Professor Jonathan Caravello, was dragged away by four masked ICE agents while lawfully observing a raid. He was put in an unmarked vehicle with no explanation of where he would be taken and no access to his medication.
The UFW can confirm farm workers were critically injured yesterday during chaotic raids in Ventura County, CA. Other workers, including US citizens, remain unaccounted for. UFW staff is on the ground supporting impacted families. Our full statement below. ⬇️ 1/
