How do social signals and the nervous system regulate physiology, development, and aging?
Always wanted to know how male pheromones make the oogenic germline better? Well, wonder no longer. pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…
Dear @Dev_journal do you know what makes your claim of "format-free submission" a LOT less credible? Having in place arcane formatting rules for submission! This must change!
Wow! And wonderful!
An amazing night at the #NobelPrize banquet celebrating with Dr. Ruvkun & Dr. Ambros! A huge achievement in the world of mRNA. #RNA #RNAtheraphy #mRNA #HiRM
As the Nobel Award Ceremony is about to begin, a valuable lesson was reminded to us by the lectures given by Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun - the best science is driven by curiosity and genuine collaboration with friends and colleagues. nobelprize.org
Turns out parental brains are thinking about offspring. @OdedRechavi @schumacherbj @MeitalOren Impressive!
Scared to share this after 10 freaking years of waiting but here we go: We found that temperature *perception* can change the next generations, even when “it’s just in the parents' head”. Read how C. elegans neurons control epigenetic inheritance! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Neurons regulate the germline @OdedRechavi @schumacherbj Impressive!
...and it doesn't end there: In a 2nd @biorxivpreprint that we posted back-to-back with @schumacherbj‘s lab we show that in addition to affecting epigenetic inheritance, temperature perception controls genetic inheritance via transposons! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Connectomes of synaptic wiring represent remarkable scientific achievements and are useful research tools. That said, much activity in the nervous system occurs via nonsynaptic signaling that is not represented in connectomes. Check out this review: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Check out this interesting study!

I wrote a story. It was rejected 42 times before being published. Now it's published, but no one is reading it. Being a writer is fun, you should try it.
Paper alert!! A different theme (not aging!) published in @plosgenetics. Led by @Umanshi and @Gautam_Sarkaar , we show a novel genetic interaction between Cyclin D and FOXO transcription factor in oocyte quality assurance and reproductive fidelity. journals.plos.org/plosgenetics/a…
Statistics is hard enough for most people as it is; please stop using the phrases "type I" and "type II" errors. Unless, of course, your goal is to confuse people - in which case, congrats - you've succeeded! Just say "false positive" and "false negative" instead.
I ran 80,000 simulations. It's a rainy Tuesday night in every single one of them.
Can confirm - it is as amazing as it looks.

Oh, classy move, Yankee Fan!
Yankees fans are doing anything they can to try to help their team beat the Dodgers. I've never seen anything like this — two fans literally trying to rip the ball out of Mookie Betts' glove. It was obviously ruled an out on a great catch from Betts.
Well done @doug_p !
It was a pleasure and honor to talk with the thoughtful and engaging @JohnnyFoxe about the amazing nematode #celegans and the work we’ve been doing in the lab. If you’ve got half an hour to kill and want to hear me blather on about worms, give it a listen!
Strong and helpful analysis. But skip the onion.

Have you ever seen a piece of pizza this big?
