Robin Jarvis

Author/Mouse killer.
Thank you. I'd absolutely love to go back there and finish Adam o' the Cogs story. Keep hoping for that miracle.
@RobinJarvis1963 Hi there, I’m not sure if you’ve answered this anywhere before but, as I’ve been rearranging my bookshelves and come across it, I must ask - will there every be anymore Intrigues of the Reflected Realm? I loved Deathscent so much as a child.
The Whitby Witches by Robin Jarvis. When orphans Ben and Jennet arrive in the seaside town of Whitby to stay with Alice Boston, they have no idea what to expect - today's classic book #readingforpleasure #BookOfTheDay #ad amzn.to/2FI3zXk
I have tears in my eyes having heard the news that Sky Kids will no longer be commissioning Kids media content. Why can’t people understand the importance of providing quality UK made relevant content for kids, cos childhood lasts a lifetime 🥲
FRANK! This is amazing! All I can say is wow! Stunning work. So bowled over by this!
Made this mask recently! Based on the Morgan sculpt I did from The Deptford Mice by @RobinJarvis1963 :) 3D sculpted and printed parts. Silicone ears, tinted eyes, an elaborate fur pattern and a powered laptop fan in the snout so I don't die when wearing it 😅
I’d laugh if I wasn’t crying. (From the new Private Eye.)
And here was me thinking I was writing improper books, dagnabbit. That means a lot though.
Not at all, Robin! As I've said to you before, it was the first 'proper book' I read, and was perfect for me. As was the rest of the trilogy, then The Alchemist's Cat, The Oaken Throne, onto the Whitby series. It was you and Alan Garner one book after another for many years! 🖤
Well I'm blown away by that. Thank you!

I made that face - lol
Municipal Garbage wishes you a happy day!
That's a huge compliment, thank you
As a 40 year old, I still feel the death of Vespertilio as keenly as I did as a 10 year old.
You know, I honestly do that. Humbling messages like yours really do get me through the mulligrubs. Thank you. Have a brilliant weekend yourself.
But honestly, your books shaped my childhood. And I went to Whitby and Deptford as an adult because of them (adore both places, btw). Whenever you feel sad, remember the magic and love of books you created in me and many other kids like me). Have the best of weekends :)
I still feel bad about the fate of the leprous mole in The Oaken Throne.
Awww, I'm chuffed you replied and my 11 y/o self is feeling magical right now. Although ... I still refuse to re-read your Deptford Mysteries series after sobbing my heart out over cat fates ... (it's honestly a cousin to Watership Down for this girl).
Thank you.
Love this. Robin Jarvis was one of my very favourite authors when I was a kid
Thank you. I'm chuffed to bits you enjoyed them.
So well deserved. I gobbled this trilogy up in 2023 and reread the Deptford Mice this year - "one small mouse at the foot of doom" is a truly beautiful line.
Always lovely to hear this. Book buying parents are the best!
Absolutely love this series. Introduced to it some moons ago as my parents bought me the series. First rate read.
Thank you!
Congratulations! And very well deserved, it's a great book
Aww, that's lovely, thank you.
My mums favourite book. And now she and my dad go to Whitby every year to walk the same streets. From her, thanks for everything Robin!
Today sees The Whitby Witches become part of the @HarperCollinsCh Classics range. Amazing to be in such revered and beloved company.

Thank you, that's so good to hear. The first Whitby book is going to join the Collins Children's Classics range next month incidentally.
My sister and I are spellbound by your Whitby books. We're not young adults, in fact quite the reverse.
Birtles Farm, a 17thC house better known to millions of readers as Highmost Redmanhey from Alan Garner's The Weirdstone of Brisingamen. I'll be talking about this & other sites at an event on Alan Garner & Archaeology at Biddulph Grange in 2 weeks, 6 July nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/shropshi…
