The Middle East is a web of ancient rivalries, sacred geography, and world-shaping history—deep, tangled, and complex. But starvation isn’t complex. Children dying isn’t complex. Turning a blind eye isn’t complex. Israel must do better. But so too must Egypt—and every…
I know 11 years sounds a lot, but for raping 2 young girls I think it is still too lenient. He waited till the last minute to plead guilty so he would have received up to 25% reduction in sentence. I think this is wrong. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/courts/fo…

In 2025 and given what we have learnt from our painful past & having listened to the voices of victims of violence, murder and mayhem from every quarter, that anyone, let alone that some MLAs - MPs and Ministers in particular justify or celebrate those responsible is…

In Belfast, a thirty minute drive takes you from urban life to the ancient monastic ruins and natural beauty of Nendrum. It’s good to take a breath and get perspective.
Speaking of "awful attempts" Gerry. Won't be taking any analysis of this terrible conflict from you thanks.
What an awful attempt at analysing. "Ancient rivalries"...
Despite Lord Murphy's review of the Windsor Framework having been presented to the Government - we don't know what it recommends, or when the Government will tell us. The extra costs and bureaucracy of the Windsor Framework are pushing some local businesses to the very edge.
Heartbreaking and distressing news from Maguiresbridge this morning. The loss of life and the serious injuries reported have shocked the local community. My thoughts are with the families of those affected and with everyone in the community as they come to terms with this tragedy
Our officers are at the scene of a shooting incident within the Drummeer Road area of Maguiresbridge. Two people have died, and two people are being treated in hospital for serious injuries. An update will follow. Full details: orlo.uk/dn7Qn

The continued vilification of former police officers invites discrimination and is a dog whistle to others. We’re to accept convicted terrorists in Stormont, Councils and even the Policing Board but a former police officer with an exemplary record having a job on merit..🤯

"The 24% figure compares to 31.2% who would prefer their child to be at an integrated school and 37.3% who said they did not mind." Most parents don't mind if it's integrated or not but almost all have the "quality of education" as the primary matter for choice. Always read…

Having spent 16 years in the fire service and now serving as UUP Agriculture spokesperson, I’ve seen two sides of danger — one where safety has improved, and one where it still hasn’t. Firefighting used to be among the most dangerous jobs. But better PPE, stronger rules, and a…

Apprentices play an incredibly important role in the skilled workforce and the wider economy. I have asked the Minister today to allow Northern Ireland employers direct access to the Apprenticeships Levy fund.
As I watch the golf with such pride at the beauty of @royalportrush & our magnificent coast line & the performance of @McIlroyRory & the dedication of those working at the event it is just so sad some people want to run Northern Ireland down & score political points.
I agree with @ryanpaulwarren here. I see myself as a balanced, reasoned, moderate loyalist. But this continuous onslaught on my community, my friends, my background has really pushed me this year. So much so I've decided to re-engage politically. This cannot go unchallenged.
I’m pretty easy going, but the constant media attacks on Unionist and Loyalist culture are exhausting. Traditions, identity and history get mocked or vilified while others are carefully avoided. I understand why many people out there are fed up and fighting back.
