Three Burrows brothers went to war in WWI. My great uncle Robert Burrows (far right of photo) died on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, today 109 years ago. Mercifully William Burrows DCM my great grandfather (left) and his brother Alexander (centre) survived the war.

I met @JackSteele_ at the @QUBLiterific recently and was very impressed - as I was with many of the students. Good to hear @DHamill2004 on @BBCNolan today also. We have some terrific young people with an interest in politics and public participation.
.@JackSteele_ is a young unionist currently studying at QUB. He has penned an interesting essay on the voting age. Jack is a really capable young man with a big future in unionism. unionistvoice.com/news/jack-stee…
The fiction is how ex terrorists portray themselves. Magee put a no warning bomb in a hotel full of civilians & was “relieved” when it detonated. It’s only because British justice is so merciful he is at large to enjoy literary conversations - he denied many others such freedom.
ANNOUNCEMENT!!! Patrick Magee in conversation with Danny Morrison 📆Tuesday 5th August 2pm 📍Áras Úi Chonghaile This event will explore how Irish republicans are portrayed in fiction, and how it has been used as a political tool of British Propaganda. No booking required.
And still they say nothing. An apology should be the very least, considering the reputational damage they have caused.
The full copy of former PSNI officer Sean’s email to Claire Hanna MP over a month ago. I understand it has not been acknowledged. Such a correspondence demands a response and a public statement about the SDLP’s hasty denigration of PSNI culture.

1. I’ll answer this question as SDLP won’t. They did engage with the ex officer known as Sean before their call for a fundamental culture review of PSNI. Sean told Alex Atwood the falsehoods he told the Belfast Telegraph. The SDLP ought to have admitted this after he was exposed.
Every week we get a read-out from Cabinet - the weekly meeting of the Government's most senior ministers. It's sent round to journalists by No10. And to be honest, normally, it's pretty boring. But this week - it acknowledged something really quite important. A year on for the…
Remember when Nuala was a member of the Police Authority for NI that provided strategic direction and oversight for the RUC BEFORE she was appointed as Police Ombudsman? How was she not conflicted? -Oversee the RUC on Friday -Investigate the RUC on Monday 🧐

The Law Society regulates solicitors in Northern Ireland, and says it is impartial and dedicated to upholding the rule of law Yet it has defended its decision to march in the Belfast Pride protest – a direct challenge to a ruling of the UK Supreme Court newsletter.co.uk/news/politics/…
The continued vilification of former police officers invites discrimination and is a dog whistle to others. We’re to accept convicted terrorists in Stormont, Councils and even the Policing Board but a former police officer with an exemplary record having a job on merit..🤯

Worth noting that when the Police Ombudsman has been under investigation for very serious criminal offences & under consideration for prosecution there was silence from those stating former police officers with exemplary records shouldn’t be in the ICRIR.

As I watch the golf with such pride at the beauty of @royalportrush & our magnificent coast line & the performance of @McIlroyRory & the dedication of those working at the event it is just so sad some people want to run Northern Ireland down & score political points.
A wonderful role model. A wonderful goalkeeper." Last night, Secretary of State @hilarybennmp - a lifelong @SpursOfficial fan -got to meet one his football heroes. He presented Pat Jennings with an award in recognition of his sporting greatness & reconciliation work.
It’s nice to be back from holiday in 🇫🇷and reunited with the puppies. They haven’t left my side since we got back last night. We will be cheering on @McIlroyRory today believing he can close the gap on the leaderboard.

The PSNI - which stopped marching in Pride in 2023 - is now reviewing its remaining involvement, such as having a stall and rainbow cars. It comes after a High Court ruling that Northumbria police broke impartiality rules by attending the event. newsletter.co.uk/news/politics/…
Well, to be clear if they did I can prove I wasn’t and I would also sue them and any platform that supported their defamation. I thought you’d have the sense to reflect on you ‘nonsense’ comment last night. Not least that all the facts now prove that nothing I said was…
That statement is defamatory @politicalcaster I expect an immediate retraction and public apology
