🚇 Riders Alliance
@RidersAlliance
A 501(c)(4) membership organization of subway and bus riders in NYC, winning better public transit by organizing riders into a powerful constituency.
Riders deserve leaders who actually ride transit and are willing to fight for it. Today, we’re launching a new political action arm to give millions of transit-riding voters a voice in deciding who will represent us! Learn more: ridersalliance.org/news/were-laun…
🚦Less traffic. Cleaner air. Faster commutes. Safer streets. Thanks to congestion pricing, NYC has: ✅ 67k fewer cars ✅ Subway & bus ridership up ✅ Traffic deaths down ✅ $15B for transit upgrades This is progress — and we’re just getting started.
🚨🛗🚉More wins for our district! It took a few years, but we finally got 2 elevators for Rego Park & Elmhurst subway stops. Only 21/81 Queens’ stations are accessible. 136/472 in NYC. Today is a big step towards making ALL our stations accessible to all. qns.com/2022/03/schume…

Big news for Brooklyn commuters! The @MTA Capital Plan includes elevators at 3⃣ more stations in our district (Franklin Ave-Medgar Evers, Grand Army Plaza and Botanic Garden). Congestion pricing revenue is making these investments possible- while reducing traffic + pollution!

“Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Saturday he’ll pack his bags and flee to Florida if he loses the NYC mayoral race to socialist Zohran Mamdani.” nypost.com/2025/07/19/us-…
The *experience* candidate, who held high office back when dinosaurs roamed the earth (Turns out they still do! Who knew?) just dropped the most naive, pie in the sky, born-yesterday proposal of the entire campaign
Andrew Cuomo proposes mayoral control of NYC transit system — rivals say he ‘had his chance and failed to deliver’ trib.al/fdzJKZQ
Everyone deserves a safe, affordable and reliable commute but some see political gain in lying about successful policies and exploiting our fears. Millions of riders will always stand up for the basic public services we need and deserve and for our way of life in New York City.
NYC's congestion pricing scam is class warfare like nowhere else. If @RepJerryNadler and the rest of New York's leaders are going to force commuters on the subways, they should at least fight to keep transit safe.
When Corey Johnson proposed a city takeover of public transit, the disgraced former governor sneered: "He just became speaker. Now he wants to be train conductor?" Now Andrew, who heaps scorn on our subway and millions of riders, wants to be train conductor? Please spare us
.@andrewcuomo repeats that he would propose the city takes over the management of the MTA, which is run by the state. "The MTA is too big to be able to manage the transit authority, effectively, let the mayor, manage the New York City Transit Authority," he says.
The crisis is here. The time to update and fortify our infrastructure to meet the demands of our new normal was a decade ago. We need leaders to step up *now* with bold plans to cut emissions and protect New Yorkers from extreme heat, rising tides, and flooded subways.
Earlier tonight, NYC was drenched by more than 2” of rain in a single hour, flooding streets, basements and subways. I’m grateful to the city workers and emergency responders we rely on in these events. But we must upgrade our infrastructure for this new climate reality.
Great question! If the current Mayor won't implement data-backed, common sense measures to speed up the nation's slowest buses after 3.5 years in office, maybe our next Mayor will?
The 14th Street Busway has been a smashing success: faster commutes, fewer crashes, calmer streets. So why is Eric Adams blocking a similar plan for 34th Street?
