Rubbish at law; equally bad at religion. Failed Lawyer, Trainee Lifeboat Crew, Aspiring Author, Clerk in Holy Orders tweeting to kill time. Views barely my own.

Looking forward to namedropping my good friend @AdamMerrivale as a sermon illustration tomorrow.
He wrote that Presbyterians differed from the Church of England “1. In Common Prayer and Ceremonies. 2. In your Canons. 3. In Your Government or Prelacy. 4. In your Discipline and Censures.”
Francis Makemie wrote in 1697 concerning Anglicans and Presbyterians: “That of all Protestants that differ from them [Anglicans], we [Presbyterians] differ in the least and smallest matters.” (Truths in a True Light)
Excited to hear Amy Orr-Ewing today! Absolutely loved her “Where Is God in All the Suffering?“ when I read it last year. #Focus2025

God help him, indeed. A resurgent and confident Church is key to national renewal and unity.
When George becomes King his kingdom is likely to be more fractured and internally-wriven than at any time since the 17th Century. God help him.
There are, in fact, Thirty Nine English ~Values~, and they start with “Of Faith In The HOLY TRINITY: There is but one living and true God, ever- lasting, without body, parts, or passions; of infinite power, wisdom, and goodness; the Maker, and Preserver of all things both…”
"There are five British values" is just unimprovable post-Blair deracination. 'We've reduced the last thousand years of your history into a checklist designed to avoid excluding anyone in an effort to fix the mess we've made of the country. You have five values now.' 'ok'
In Tolkien’s Letters to Father Christmas, the people of the North Pole speak Arktik, which is actually Quenya. Also, Father Christmas’s secretary is Ilbereth, which sounds a lot like Elbereth, aka Varda. All signs point to Father Christmas being a great Elf-lord, or perhaps even…
What's a conspiracy theory you believe with your whole heart?
As a trustee & governor of SPCK we are thrilled that @SPCKPublishing and @IVPbookcentre are playing a significant role in this growth. Congratulations to our brilliant CEO @SamRichardson__ and our talented SLT and staff. @ChurchTimes
Halfway through 2025, @bookdata’s Religion category is experiencing something of a Lazarus-style resurgence, with total sales rising by three quarters of a million pounds compared with the first six months of 2024 👇 ebx.sh/wSUVpc
Nuclear is better for nature. It uses 3,000x less land than onshore wind, operates 24/7, and produces zero emissions while protecting our countryside. But piles of red tape stand in the way. So, we're using amendments in Parliament to force Labour to get Britain building.
Quite a remarkable speech by @danny__kruger - you can find my recent review of his personal political manifesto, Covenant, here: psephizo.com/reviews/is-cov…
I gave a speech today in an empty chamber. It’s about the need for a Christian restoration.
An incredible day of prayer. Was great to be a small part of it. 🙏🏻 Beautiful little church also. Always fancied visiting when driving past.

A side point, but the cloth the design appears on was woven, but the design itself was embroidered. It's really the Bayeux Embroidery.
Ah yes, Wednesday evening. Must be time for Psalm 119. Thanks Lectionary Man.
Such a great end to Central@4’s mini Pentecost season - a return of the Central Sit Downs, talking to Jess about all we’ve learned about the Holy Spirit, and what difference he makes in our lives.

A huge «thanks» to @swpolice who assured me that a patrol would be sent to move along some verbally abusive people from the church grounds; turns out a patrol wasn’t sent, enabling my recycling containers to be set on fire.

Absolutely loving @GreggsOfficial Mac&Cheese - praying that it isn’t a time limited thing! @GreggsOfficial please confirm 🙏

Bible nerds: Is there a list of which modern translations have sided with “Jesus” in Jude 1:5, and which have kept “Lord”?

Please, can someone make this stop
We are going to go with "wash/washing" for the next Anglish service. I had used "dunking" originally and changed it to "dip" at the last minute for the first one, but I had not considered "washing" at the time. I think it is powerful to emphasize the cleansingness of the act.
