@BBKogan
Sr Director of Federal Budget Policy, @amprog/@CAPAction. Before: OMB46, Transition46, @SenateBudget (Murray & Sanders). CBO & OMB’s biggest fan! Personal acct.
If you assume all the rescissions in the rescissions bill stick & that the budget accounts never get additional plusups in future years, then Republicans would need to do another 35 rescissions bills the size of what they did last week in order to pay for the big beautiful bill.
Final CBO score of the "big beautiful bill" is out Biggest Medicaid cuts ever - in fact, 4 times the size of the previous biggest; $894-$990 bn Kicks 10 million off health insurance Biggest SNAP cuts ever, $187 bn Still increases deficit by $3.4 trillion from huge tax cuts
We STILL don’t have final estimates for: -how many people lose health insurance -how many people lose SNAP -who wins/loses and by how much -total Medicaid cuts -total health care cuts -total SNAP cuts Because not having that info available was important to the ppl voting for it
We still don’t even final estimates for: -how many people lose health insurance -how many people lose SNAP -who wins/loses and by how much -total Medicaid cuts -total health care cuts -total SNAP cuts Because knowing that didn’t matter to the people who supported it
They keep saying they are protecting Medicaid's truly vulnerable Would be easier to believe if they didn't keep doing things that will hurt Medicaid's truly vulnerable It happened again last week, read about it in my latest for @BulwarkOnline thebulwark.com/p/trump-isnt-d…
sure just delete the load-bearing wall from your house lol
delete the “lol” from the end of your sentences and just say what you need to say
A director who actually *likes* the character of Superman and leans into the archetype. We love to see it folks 🥲 Also, Nathan Fillion, you beautiful bastard, I will watch you in every single role you land
The Superman Knower (me, pictured below in my pre-k school photo — I wore superhero outfits to school because I was insecure and they made me feel less powerless) is about to see the new film 🫡

This is one of the most quintessentially American things, and it fucking rules. If you want to be here and be part of society, then you’re American. (Photo of Schwarzenegger the day he became a citizen)
I feel so lucky to be an American, a country that transcends the stupid tribalism of assuming ones community based on mere accidents of birth.
This is just a bill! You can pass bills whenever! What’s special about the 45 days is 1) when the SENATE privilege expires 2) when POTUS must release the funds again But you can rescind funds at any time! We do every single year in normal bills!
Yes! After the 45 days the admin is legally required to release the funds, but they were illegally pausing them before the 45 days. So if Congress goes past Friday, the admin will go back to illegally pausing the funds until the House passes it. Senate privilege is what mattered.
